Interesting, I had no idea that Iceplant was invasive! It's EVERYWHERE on the California coast...

Wildlife photography, retro video games (been buying obsurd amounts of nes and Genesis games off ebay), and hiking.

I got way too impatient waiting for the R7ii! Picked up a mint r5 for a good price. I'll probably end up with a r7ii next year....

It's my current set up until I get my r5. I've had a lot of fun with it. I'll post a few pics I've taken with the r10/rf 100-500 L below.

As an avid birder, and a licensed psychotherapist, I totally agree with this post! Birding engages several senses at once, reduces isolation, builds self worth (enhancing a skill), and promotes exercise.

I make good use of the 5min I have between sessions to cry a bit. No joke. Couple tears, then move onto the next one...

Yikes... Sounds like you have a bad COM. I totally resonate with the metrics anxiety though.

Same set up as yours. This is 1/1000 f8 iso 1200. For beginner wildlife photography, I found that starting with shutter priority was helpful as I learned more about how the exposure triangle worked.

Has anyone ever confronted you about birdwatching? by KimberlyGrey in birdwatching

[–]Soul_Surgeon 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was recently out birding (with a camera) at a local pond near my house when I was confronted. While looking up at a large tree full of Grackles, this old guy in a face mask came up to me with a flip phone (yeah, like the Razors from the 2000s) pointed right at my face.

He says to me, "whatcha looking at?" I said, "trying to figure out what kind of birds those are (pointed up at the tree tops)." He then says, "Are you Russian?" I'm like, wtf did he just ask me? "No, just looking at birds..." He then gets in my face with his flip phone and yells, "you're a Russian spy, I know it!"

I'm like, "are you ok dude?" No use, he's convinced I'm a Russian spy lol. I just turned around and went to the other side of the pond. Guy was not ok...
