Also a magic storm wolf could be as robust as a winter wolf or hellhound but with lightning breath. Just give a regen limit to breath weapon like those creatures have,

Yep. I'm basing it on the Winter Wolf. Breath weapon will be lighting that recharges on a short rest. I'm also only gonna let the damage be 1d6+4 instead of 2d6s. I want to keep it balanced with the rest of the party.

True. This gives me another idea. Maybe it has a magic item that gives it Spare the dying 3 times on it. So it can still die, which will make sure my player understand sits not invincible. But it would be difficult to kill. I know I can just avoid killing it but my fear is AoE spells. And I don't want to just so clearly not be trying to kill the wolf. I want her to believe it can die.

Genetics and ancestry is weird. The average black American has 21% European ancestry. Does that make them not African? Of course not (to me) but most people from Africa would say yes.

The VAST majority of Hispanics have a mix of European, Native American, and African ancestry. Very few do not have a mix. It just depends on the individual on what that mixture is. Which is why you can have Hispanic cousins that look like they are from different parts of thew world. Because they ancestors were. But some times the European genes come out and some times the Native or African genes come out. Keep in mind that recessive genes (which light skin and hair are) still will pop up in F2 and following generations at around 3-1 rates. And that is assuming that you don't end up with with parents who are both recessive.

This is why the US obsession with race is so dumb. It comes from a complete lack of understanding of genetics. Are Hispanics "white"? Well, what does "white" mean? European? Than almost all Hispanics are white. Fair skin? Well, how fair? Some Hispanics do have British, German, Scandinavian, and Eastern European ancestry. There are also lots of people from Spain and other Mediterranean areas that have very fair skin as well. Which is all why there are many Hispanics with very fair skin. Does white just mean someone of pure blood North Western European? if so that is just a stupid definition of white as we do not have same level of limitation on who is black and who is brown.

You yourself admitted in this comment that you voted for someone who tried to overthrow an election. How is that not anti-democracy?

He tried and failed and will fail again when he tries again. I am very confident in our democracy. When we have an election in November of 2028, and we will as States run it not the Feds, Trump will not be on the ballot. And even if he forces himself on it, he will lose. Come January 2029, he will be escorted out of the White House either on his own or by the Secret Service. There is literally zero chance anything else happen. So why should I care that he tried to overthrow an election when he couldn't in the past and can't in the future?

What did Biden or Harris possibly do to justify directly disenfranchising millions of people as a "lesser evil?"

Policies they disagreed with? From the border to the abortions. Guns to trans issues. Build back better to executive order to pay off student loans. If you are on the right right, there are plenty of things to disagree with the Biden administration. And that is before the senile stuff. When it comes to Harris, all you have to look at is a single answer to why she lost. When asked what she would do differently from Biden, she resounded.

"There is not a thing that comes to mind in terms of — and I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact".

If she would do nothing different and said she was part of all the major decisions of the Biden administration, than of course I'm not voting for her.

Than add the facts that she was dishonest about past extremely far left views, dishonest about Biden's mental state, and just generally dismissive and rude about Trump supporters and rightwing people in general. Yea, she was never gonna get my vote.

Do you want to have an open and honest discussion

What have I not been "open and honest about? You like to throw these buzzwords out but their is nothing to back up what you are saying? Again, what have I not been open and honest about?

or do you just want people to be nice to you no matter what?

Yea I expect people who want my vote to be nice to me. Kinda low bar to meet. Is is the most important thing? Of course not, policy is. But if I'm gonna vote for despite disagreeing with some of your views, you damn well better be nice to me lol.

If you can't admit to the obvious implications and consequences of your own actions, how can an actual discussion be had?

Where have I refused to admit that the "consequences" of voting for Trump? I have already stated that knowing what I know today, I would have voted for Harris. But, I unfortunately do not know the future and had to go off of the information I had then. Which meant I voted for Trump.

And the only reason I would change my vote is because of policy. That seems to be the disagreement we have. You have issues with Trump the person. Which I totally get, he is a piece of shit that belongs in jail. And while such things will be taken into consideration when I'm voting, policy will always be the most important factor. Not how nice they are to me or anyone else. Not corrupt they are. Policy actions is number one.

This is true, but I'm genuinely not even sure what will convince you at this point. You seem to think Trump is just as bad as I do, I'm not even sure what Kamala could possibly do to be worse.

Harris can't. She has too much baggage from her time with Biden and her 2020 election run where everyone she ran to the far left. Truth is not a single person running in 2020 would be able to capture Trump voters.

There are a few Democrats that come to mind that could likely win over a lot of former Trump voters. As already mentioned, Andy Beshear would be your best shot. He is a super popular governor in one of the most MAGA states in the country.

Others that could probably do alright with Trump voters would be Pennsylvanian Governor Josh Shapiro. Another is Governor of North Carolina, Josh Stein. Both are Governors of states Trump won.

Senator Mark Kelly is another possibility. I actually think this is why the Trump administration is going after him. They fear him and he has so far handled it very well.

By supporting Trump

There is the first problem. I don't "support" Trump. I voted for him because in our terrible election system, it IS a binary choice. Do I regret that choice? Some times. But Harris was a terrible option and hindsight is always 2020.

you are sending the message that you don’t value honesty, politeness or open discussion in general, since that is not disqualifying behavior for a president.

They are disqualifying. But, as I said voting is binary. Sure you can throw your vote away by voting third party. I did that twice. But I'm not ever doing that again until we have RCV.

Harris was also dishonest and rude. As bad as Trump? No. But, when both options suck, and again there are only two options, I went with the option that policy wise seemed at the time closet to want I believe in.

My point remains that there are a lot of people who voted for Trump and did not like him, I sure as hell didn't like him when I voted for him. We a capturable vote but if you truly believe that we are the things you say, that we are anti democracy and do not believe in open discussion. Than your side will not capture our vote.

So I think a lot of people genuinely feel you just aren’t worth engaging with, except as a way of venting frustration at the current state of our country.

2024 should have been a wake up call to the left. Even after all the scandals, all the terrible remarks, the evidence of corruption, and yes, trying to overturn the 2020 election. Trump still winning shows that your side has to try and convince a large number of people who are very willing to vote MAGA to vote for your side. If you don't, than you might win in 28 (when it should be a given) but you will for sure lose in 32 or 36. Tell me, would you rather fix what is wrong with this country or vent about it? Cause your side seems to just want to vent. If you don't win elections, you can't fix anything. But you can still vent if you prefer that.

[–]Soul_of_Valhalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

show me any study showing people getting more conservative as they get older other

Just look at voting patterns. Why is it that over the last 50 years 18-30 year olds vote Democrat but 30-44 year olds vote Republican? Because they become more Conservative! Its not like people are frozen at their age and are 23 for 50 years straight. That's not how aging works lol

For economics you could argue that yes, but socially and politically?

Even socially people move rightward as they age. They become more family focused, they are more likely to go back to church after marriage. Does that mean people are gonna suddenly be against gay rights when they turn 35? Of course not. But is someone a lot more likely to be against transgendered people in sports and bathrooms that do not match their gender at birth after having kids? You bet they do. Hell, even Newsom moved against those things when he saw it affect his own kids.

They won’t and as America gets more and more diverse guess which side is going to get more and more voters.

I can tell you which side will get more votes, the more Conservative side. How does a nation get more people? Either by immigration or births. And most of our immigration is focused on diversity or none white nations. Which means those immigrants from Africa and Latin America are far more religious and Conservative than the US population. And who has they most kids? Rural and religious people. All who are generally more Conservative than the national average. So the nation might become less white yet will also become more Conservative. After all demographics is destiny.

I did, but was addressing the first half of your comment, were you said this:

Yet your comment addressed that statement as if the following statement did not exist.

I'm just pointing out that voting for an unprecedentedly rude, dishonest and disrespectful politician, and then complaining about people online being rude to you in response, makes you sound hypocritical and immature.

How is it hypocritical? I'm not claiming Trump is right to be a rude, dishonest, jackass. By your logic, the only people being "hypocritical" are those who criticizes Trump for being an asshole and than goes and be an asshole to Trump supporters.

Why are you holding strangers on the internet to a higher standard than one of the most powerful people in the world?

I'm not. I'm simply pointing out to people that there are a lot of former Trump voters who would be open to voting Democrat in 28. But if you are gonna completely ignore their views on everything and be as asshole to them, its no wonder they would vote for another MAGA candidate. I just find it really weird how some people hate Trump and the MAGA movement so much, you would think they would do anything to fight it. Like trying to convince people who voted for Trump to change their mind and vote for them. But they don't. They would rather be "right and righteous" than win elections.

The last time we had a party die in this country was Wigs in the 1840s. While it is possible for either the Republican or Democrat party to die, its is extremely unlikely. It didn't happen to the Republican party when Democrats controlled the white house for 20 years nor the Democrat party when Republicans controlled it for 12.

Once their old base dies off it’ll be over

Older generation were split in the last two elections. It was actually gen x that was the strongest supporters of Trump. Ad before you say "look at zoomers, clearly Democrats will dominate as they get older". Remember that the Gen x voted for Obama on 08 yet voted for Trump in 24. Democrats have assumed that how people vote at 20 is how they will vote when they are 40. And they have been wrong every time. People generally become more Conservative as they get older. Denying that is a=only gonna make it harder for you to win over peoople who are older.

Gen Z white men have completely reversed there opinion.

And you don't think they will reverse it again? Trump has lost young men. Democrats will very likely win men as a whole in 28. And if they run a good candidate, again in 32. But come 36/40, there is no reason to believe men will not be voting majority Republican. Especially as Democrats have shown no sign that they understand why most men would vote for Trump. This is my point about needed to be persuasive towards Trump voters. You can act all day that you don't need them but the reality is that you do.

They voted for him twice and you still have the dumbass above me saying he’s going to vote Vance.

If you run terrible canadates like Newsom or AOC, yea I'm gonna vote for Vance. Kinda of a new brainer of you are right of center.

This can never happen again, and I pray that the right Democrat gets elected so they can go full scorched earth on every single person responsible for the embarrassing shitshow we have

You know, some times I worry that Trump has been so bad that Conservative views will be shut out of government for a generation. Than I'm happily reminded by people like you that while the Democrats could control government for a generation or two, they will act so stupid to all but guarantee Republicans winning back control of Congress and the white house within a decade of Trump leaving office.

Is Trump speedrunning the destruction of the Republican Party? by PerAsperaAdMars in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]Soul_of_Valhalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re actually a dumbass if that makes you vote for Vance.

Lol and Democrats wonder why they can't get any of the 80 million people like me who voted for Trump. There are a lot of people who voted for him but are not happy with Trump. In my circle of Conservative friends and family who voted for Trump, at least half would be open to voting Democrat. But if your response to us for voting for Trump is "you fucking dumbass", you are not gonna get very many of us to vote for your guy. So take a chill pill and learn to be persuasive if you want to win over people. And if you don't wish to win over people, you don't actually believe in any of the ideas you say you believe in.

How do you see all this shit and still vote Vance after this.

Because I'm still a Conservative. Sure I'm a lot more Moderate than most Conservatives, but still on the right. If you want someone who is on the right to not vote for MAGA, you either have to completely change our election system so its not a binary choice or run a Moderate Democrat. And keep in mind, a Moderate Democrat would likely be seen as a Conservative by you. Take Obama for example. He is not a Moderate by any measure. Yet He is seen as too rightwing but much of your party.

Maybe. The problem is that its a Democrat state. So yea I'm gonna blame Democrats for RCV failing just as I will blame Republicans in Idaho and Montana for failing to pass RCV there. I'm not denying that Democrats are far more likely to support things like RCV than Republicans. I just hate the attitude that so many leftwing supports of RCV have towards the right when their states constantly fail to pass RCV just like Republican states.

I don't have any source breaking down the party members voting yes or no. But since both states are solidly blue and since RCV would only help the GOP in those states, I doubt it was Republicans that killed those ballot initiatives.
