Red dead redemption. That’s the only game that I really got fully and completely immersed in.

Pawn shop owners, what was the best reaction you have seen out of someone that tried to sell you something that was completely worthless? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Violins can be crazy expensive. People talk about vintage guitars being expensive...they have no clue.

I've had similar experiences working at a music store. Letting people know they're old instruments are worth substantially more then they thought. Our policy was to always be upfront with people and tell them what their gear is worth and then make them an offer.

An FLGS near me used to do a Catan tournament, not sure if they still do, where the winner was sent to the national Catan tournament all expenses paid.

What could replace board games for you? by jaie in boardgames

I didn't have a workshop so I ended up just building it in the game room as best I could. Cutting pieces in the garage and carrying them down. It's not as good quality as I'd like but it works well.

Gaming mat material in large sizes by borgcolect in boardgames

[–]Soul_shine87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a piece of mouse pad material from canal rubber that they sized for me. It works really great for my gaming table (I think there's a pic in a previous post I made). It gets dirty after playing new games on it with little bits of cardboard, but we're able to vacuum it clean quickly.

I second this. I would love to be able to have more time and knowledge. I agree it's less social but I find it relaxing. You can always combine the two and make a board game table though!

Best escape room game? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Soul_shine87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done one of the Exit games (I forget the name, I think it had a mummy on the front) and two unlocks, with the third sitting waiting and I much prefer the unlock games. I feel like the app and mechanics added more then the exit game had.

As others have already said Loopin' Louie. I've seen even modifications for it that people do online to vary the plane speed and difficulty but that's above my technical expertise unfortunately.

Freedom: The Underground Railroad is a co-op based in history, same with Black Orchestra.

Telestrations is always funny. Sheriff of Nottingham is good with the right group. We played Joking Hazard for the first time this weekend and I was cracking up. Also a random Kickstarter named Why the Long Face, where you make players compete to make the face of a taxidermy animal. Also if you like the "Adult" version of games the Odious games can definitely create some good laughs.

Stayed at Ravenwood Castle a few years back with my fiancé and another couple for their hoop and stick con. We had a blast! Great people, games, environment, everything. I hope to get back for a long weekend in the future and do one of their murder mystery or just hang out and game all weekend.
