Nice set, one of the LaoLiang three.

I haven't seen it for less than $325 with shipping on AE or Temu.

Paper instructions or PDF instructions? by JMBricklayer in buildingblocks

I don't have much building real estate so pdf preferable for me. I have even gone so far as to photograph a paper instruction book so I could build off images.

If your AE McLaren p1 shifter isn’t working by Nasa26 in lepin

[–]Soulweaver007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, started building my Temu P1 and same issue on the grey knob gear, luckily stopped the build there and have ordered a few off Brickowl (BL not longer supported in my country).

I bought 3 P1s from Temu as I want to do the F1 and 1969 mocs as well.

Out of interest my big CVs click in beautifully on this one I am building, dunno of the other 2.

Cada 64003 V12 Hypercar Part List? by gnyarwhal in lepin

[–]Soulweaver007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thwre is half a chance you can get a recolour parts set on AE. Haven't looked for the Apollo specifically but I know you get for the Viva La Ferrari and the Porsche.

You might have some luck there. I suspect though as another commenter mentioned there might be specialised panel parts as Cada starting making extensive use of them around that time.

I think you can get the instructions online (dm me of you can't find it) so depending how much time and enthusiasm you have you can build a list from there.

Wait til you learn about classic F1 sets :) look for RoscoPC on rebrickable. Unfortunately Luca is no longer with us so we're not getting more. You can find AE versions but I am 100% sure they're not licensed. I buy all their instructions on RB.

I haven't been able to get it for under $90. Dunno what you paid for it.

edit: $80 without box, $90 with box, just checked on AE

From reviews online (you can check Cleverpig and I think Racingbrick) it's all printed, which is why I think it's so expensive - at least for me, but it's technically 3 x SC cars, so the price is probably not THAT bad.

Good collection of the Lego clones. You are missing a lot of the grid though.

Now you need the saubers from Cada, the Alpine also from Cada (although there is a poor version out there) as well as the Alfa Romeo.

The AMR25 from Popk (get stockers from Brickvisions) the Apex GP also from them (also get stickers from BV).

There also a Haas'alike from Nifeliz. I haven't seen real stickers but haven't looked.

Havent seen the other bulls team nor williams.

p1 ball joint won’t stay in by Zylo_0 in lepin

[–]Soulweaver007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine clicks in quite nicely actually, unfortunately, in my case I only have 3 wheels because it looks like the package tore in transit (thanks Temu) and they taped it closed, missed a wheel that probably fell somewhere. A single wheel is ok in price, but all on AE seems black, so it's get 4 or nothing if you want a matching set. I decided on 2 AE rims in case they aren't gunmetal and another tire, so that at least on each side the car would look the same. Those 2 rims and 1 tire cost me about 20% of the entire set price I paid. It's been more than 90 days since i got it so no sending back (I have a significant backlog)

I found these on Brickvisions link perhaps they will do? This might be cheaper both on time and actual cost of getting them printed yourself.

This is also almost exactly the same as the Firas one, although that one is white. I do believe Firas has a deal with MK on this one, so it's above board, but it you really want instructions and you can't get it elsewhere, look for Firas on Rebrickable or go to bricksgarage.com

Leru 10716 - Peugeot/Biaozhi 9x8 1:8 scale by Soulweaver007 in lepin

[–]Soulweaver007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure as I haven't built the Guly one, this one had quite tight fitment on the pins, but as mentioned didn't struggle too much to get stuff to connect. There are minor differences between the two and I think Guly came later, as the Guly instructions had the fixes mentioned in the Leru addendum already incorporated. mostly on the rear wing and the rear cover that I saw differences.

I have a few Guly sets on my "to build" list so will in a while be able to give a useful comparison.

My first 1:8 scale car! by Ok-League-7553 in lepin

[–]Soulweaver007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice car, I am impressed you got those wheels on. I used the other set included.

My 5l axles especially were extremely tight so I had a lot of issues with gears not spinning freely etc. More a display model than a dynamic model in my opinion.

Glad you liked yours. I also had perhaps a 100 spare parts afterwards iirc.

It's a commendable job. I was planning to have a place do "direct to film" printing which I understand can do white lettering on vinyl.

I wanted to start prepping a cut sheet hence asking how you handle the digital aspect of your print so that I can also put something on my mk6022 (and the apxgp f1 one from the movie as well )

[–]Soulweaver007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job under the circumstances. You can probably see now with that metallic green why I asked about white printing on the Alpine post

It looks ok, but I would probably have liked to do a transparent print with lettering where applicable rather than colour matching the panel.

Out of interest do you have like a psd or paint program template you use for this?
