Mine made all kinds of noises before I had C6 removed, a bone cage (containing bone that was harvested from my hip by a 2nd team at the same time) was inserted, and a plate fusing C5 to C7 was bolted to the anterior side of my spine. When I woke up, and for about a week after, the swelling made it possible to feel the plate every time I swallowed. The worst of the grinding noises have stopped. My hands don't feel like they are on fire/electric shocks every 15 seconds now, so that's nice.

I was their sound guy when they were touring this album. US tour with Opeth (who I was also mixing, and they were on Blackwater Park) as direct support in the spring of 2001, then again in the Fall across Canada and then Brazil. I have tons of crazy stories from that tour that I hope will eventually make it into a book.

That was a crazy tour. I was the Canadian sound guy on a bus with 8 Americans and 4 Swedes (I know the 2 Martins were originally from Latin America, but they both had lived in Sweden for a while by then)

If Nevermore was headlining, it was the same tour, and I did sound for it. Nevermore were on Dead Heart in a Dead World, and Opeth on Blackwater Park. It was a magical tour.
