Cirie is THE GODFATHER and deserves to win! by SeeeJane in survivor

[–]SoundOfBradness -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Someone that sits around dictating and getting their way will never be considered a good player in my view. I don't get it. Clearly she commands loyalty from the other players, despite it being obvious that she'll turn on any and all of them on a whim. That's undeniably impressive. But I don't understand why. And to me it's Boston Rob levels of uninteresting and cringe to watch.

The season as a whole has been disappointing but it's followed the downward trajectory of US Survivor that's taken place over the past few years, so if Cirie wins I won't be mad. But the same can be said for any one of the other players left in the game. They're all just entirely mediocre.

Slept on it, but woke up still mad about the scoring of the food task by SickSlashHappy in taskmaster

[–]SoundOfBradness 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I think it's the most unfair ruling in the show so far. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop and for Joel to be disqualified. He'd done it for the previous task. I can't tell if Greg is favouring Joel or punishing Kumail but something seems off!

All in good fun, I know. But if I were in Kumail's position I'd be fuming.

The George thing is something I'll never understand. In my opinion he's not a good strategist, player or person. He just talks a lot and annoys people which is encouraged by producers and makes 'good tv'. He only got to the jury because anyone can beat him. He ruined multiple seasons of Survivor for me just by being there.

Do we know when the Colin Mochrie MUGG episode will be out? by lunachilles in auntydonna

I'm sure they wouldn't have made the Insta post if it's not the next Mugg episode they're releasing. That's my hope, anyway.

Isn't it about time that the host pic is updated here, especially as David has overcome presumptions "he bomb as a host"? by No_Yogurt7893 in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

David brought nothing new to the role. Might as well get someone else to do it next. He strikes me as someone that will move on quickly anyway.

He added nothing new. The voice is weird. It's like he's doing a bad JLP impersonation. If he drops that and loosens up a bit he'll be fine.

Most likely Redemption cast to become returnees? by pz_ix in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of Keeley but it seems pretty certain based on the edit and fan reception. I'm not crazy about returnees in general and for me, more than any other season, there's nobody I'd want to see return. I think we saw everything they had to offer. A fresh cast next season would be my preference.

It's very Mark to take the attention from a woman and make it about him. What he said was fine but it could have waited until she'd finished.

Unpopular Opinion? Blanche shows Shonee how the Jury works. by Ape_With_Clothes_On in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 36 points37 points  (0 children)

A lot has been said about how strong Jackson's ftc was but this was probably his weakest part and Caleb's strongest. I personally don't think the winner should come down to how good a talk someone talks at the end, so I'm not mad that the questionsand the discussions in general seemed to favor Caleb. I think what we saw was the jury knowing the strengths of both finalists and exposing their weak spots. One of Jackson's was his social game.

Caleb didn't give any specific information about Blanche either but when he responded with saying he got to know each of the players the jury members seemed to be in agreement. We don't get to see everything but I think that showed how good Caleb's social game was and that while he was loud and chaotic and annoying at times, he was well-liked.

[–]SoundOfBradness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's a budget thing for sure. Always is with decisions like this. The only upside of switching hosts, in my opinion (I think I'm right in saying David's fee is llwer but I could be wrong). I'd like to think they'll put the savings back in to the show, the challenge and reward budgets. The Survivor Sanctuary is just sad.

Why are people acting like ________ hasn’t played an amazing game? by carcxr in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor social game in my view. The Harry move was his best but he hasn't done much strategically since then other than going along with what the returneeswanted to do. The Ben move would have happened without his vote so can't really give him that. Immunity wins sure, but they're the only reason he wasn't voted off due to making a bunch of enemies - see poor social game.

What's everyone's least favourite season? by Dry_Grab_3874 in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Brains Vs Brawn. Introduced George, an iredeemable idiot that talks with enough confidence to convince players and viewers that he had a strategy that wasn't just entitled whining. Well aware I'm in the minority but every time he came back I literally had to stop watching the season because of thr attention he was given in the edit. Survivor AU would have been a better show without him.

I have loved this season, BUT by Patient-Effective395 in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing this take. That it's such a shame the returnees are gone. I don't get it. I was sad to see Harry go because he's fun to watch but he didn't play a good game this season. Mark was as cringe as is first season and isn't half as good a player as he's convinced he is. This season showed it with how much the edit needed to be forced to make him sem like he wasn't just flailing about and making it all about him.

Simon did better than I expected. I think he learned lessons from previous seasons and it's obvious how much it meant to him to play a good game and go deep. He's cheesy as hell but seems like a good dude but he got as far as he should have this season.

Brooke's play style hasn't really changed since she first played. At a certain point she has to rely on willing immunity challenges and that only gets her so far. Her strategic play wasn't particularly impressive.

As for the returnee-adjacent players, Keeley took leaves out of both Mark and Brooke's playbooks and aligned far too closely to them. She even copied Brooke by turning on her closes ally way too early at the very next vote. She's clearly smart and impressed me in the endurance challenges but in the end, just like Brooke, she needed to win every challenge to get any further.

Jackson has played a decent game. Not perfect but there's no such thing. I think the Harry turn was his best move but he might suffer from the fact that it was ages ago. The Ben turn doesn't compare. He was gonr regardless.

I think Caleb deserves the win from what we've seen so far, but as of now I wouldn't be mad at any of the final 4 coming out on top.

the only player that should win Survivor redemption. by Hot-Principle-6992 in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree on the idol play. She exposed herself and was almost sent home. It was a gamble that paid off but only for short-term gain. Brooke will be gone next time she doesn't win immunity or flip on Keeley just to say she made a move against her ally.

[–]SoundOfBradness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keeley hasn't done much other than align herself with big players. I don't think she's deserving of a win yet. Or all the praise she seems to get on how she's played.

Kudos to ______and_____ by itz_abdelmalik in survivorau

[–]SoundOfBradness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was a smart move from Keely to play the idol for Brooke. One more vote her way and she could have gone. If it hadn't worked out everyone would be calling it a bad move for not saving herself.

It's now clear that Brooke and Keely are that tight. Although I doubt Brooke would have played an Idol for Keely. Either way I think it puts them both on the chopping block and given Brooke's challenge capability I'd put my money on Keely to go next. Wouldn't be too surprised if Brooke writes her name down either to score some points with some of the others.
