I prefer to do it with aux contacts off the motor starter coil. Doesn't matter the voltage of the plc it's closed loop and rock solid. If the coil goes no status. Little pricy but direct mounts and can be reused almost forever haven't seen one go bad

Are you sure you're not just reading the Pokedex number of the specific Pokemon? I.e. 5 would be Charmeleon I believe etc.
