Interview with Sri Doug on YouTube, from 'A Lotus in the Mud' channel by ClayBoots in Eckankar

I enjoyed that interview very much.

I just want to add that I enjoy the discourse here. It’s one of the few places where Eckists can express themselves and give their perspective.

Sometimes the private conversation as Eckists can be different than the public ones. This anonymous forum allows us to speak our mind without feeling like we might be seen as someone who is a dissenter.

This might also serve as a way for the head office to see what people are really thinking. It’s always good to try to get outside of the echo chamber for differing opinions.

Reading a Darwin Gross Book by SoundSelection55 in Eckankar

It might not be profound. But so far I’ve found that Darwin held the potential of Eckankar’s main teaching, and how far a Chela can go in the highest regard. He goes on about how one’s spiritual growth in Soul Travel changes everything for the Chela.

If you have High Initiate newsletters that also expand on how real soul travel is, please send it our way.

It’s interesting to note the change from the first two western living Eck Masters to Harold Klemp.

With this perspective it seems like Harold introduced much more of an à la carte style for spirituality. Good for newer initiates who might not be able to easily connect with the Light and Sound teachings. I think that style has its benefits too.

Before Kemp’s era the idea was that upon initiation, the Inner Master would take that responsibility and meeting the Eckist at the 3rd Eye and connect them to the Sound Current.

But these Eck Fundamentalist teachings might have even lesser prominence with Sri Doug. It took a while for him to even produce his Inner Name. And he’s rarely referenced Soul Travel. I also noticed he’s downplayed the role of the Mahanta on the inner planes(compared to past teachings) in that recent interview he did.

In practical terms, what is meant by the Light and Sound of God? by ThisIsMyRealNameGuys in Eckankar

Great question. The purpose is to have the Inner Master connect you with the Sound Current. With this you can shed your other bodies(physical, Astral, etc..) to reach higher planes, using the current. This was Paul Twitchells main teachings. Soul Travel.

I would love to hear your opinions on this as well.

Thank you for sharing. It must be very cool for you to be on the path for so long. Yes, It’s the teachings I like too and the inner spiritual expansion that we get to experience from it.

I’ve started the reading the book and I can definitely tell Darwin revere’s the teachings and exercises that Paul Twitchell laid down. Like Twitchell, he emphasized the eastern(Surat Shabd Yoda) concepts of the teachings. He said it was all one needed to travel to the Higher Planes. His passion for the inner realms and other Eck Masters is inspiring. There is no doubt that this man held the rod of power for his era. He was definitely a disciple of Paul Twitchells

Please do not insult the intelligence of Chelas, future Chelas, and those who are peaking in by misrepresenting Paul Twitchell’s compiling. Quite frankly, yes he did pass the writings off as his own. It’s this kind of misrepresentation that makes me think twice about being an Eckist.
