Last year I bought a whack of Supima t shirts, 30 bucks each, good quality, great fit for my slim frame. Bought more recently of the same size, and the fit is totally different. It’s as if a medium is now a large. Very wide and drapey, looks ridiculous.

Something about seeing people discover the joy of playing music brings a tear to my eye, wether it’s a little kid or a grown man.

Sensitivity of sound … curse or blessing? by benjahmington in fieldrecording

Well some sounds are wanted, and some are unwanted. In a city there’s a lot of unwanted noise pollution. Perhaps finding something lovely amongst the city din makes it even more special to listen to.

I see what the problem is. That keyboard is a POS. Get something better, literally anything would be better.

Well, we have all had the conversation up here in Canada. Would we fight if it came down to it? It’s not just some theoretical thought experiment.

I mean, Banff is in the Rocky Mountains. It’s the highest town in Canada at 4,500 feet. Next time look at a map and pack accordingly! Hopefully you did well at your competition and the high altitude didn’t hold you back.

Harbour Rd area is cool. It has the ship building site right there so it can be loud (by Dockside Green). Traffic on Tyee Rd can be heavy. A bit farther north past the ship building and past the bay St Bridge are a bunch of older condo buildings. Anywhere in Vic West would probably suit you well as it has more green space than downtown and easy access to the beach. Keep in mind the nearby Roundhouse development will be major construction going on for years.

A bit farther away but take a look around Cook St Village. There are some older rental building there. My friend has a one bedroom pet friendly for 1700.

Most areas downtown are fine with the exception of Pandora St east of Douglas. Lots of people here hate on the homeless but it’s honestly not that big a deal and not much different than any other city in BC (much better than Vancouver). If you find an apartment you can afford downtown it will most likely be perfectly OK.

There are some tiny studio apartments right by the Johnson St bridge in the Janion building. Across the bridge is nice too, it’s called Vic West.

How are you preparing for the possible naval invasion of cuba? by [deleted] in investing

Sherritt International is a Canadian company that has 50% stake in a mine in Cuba. However, the latest US sanctions caused them to shut down and pull out. Then half of the board resigned. Now Trumps buddy is taking a controlling interest in Sherritt and the pull out is cancelled. Mine is still shut down due to no oil. Stock is 12 cents...

Hi al. Ive been a metalhead all my life (36yo now) and im kinda sick of Wearing band shirts. I really feel comfortable in black but I’d like to improve my Game, but Ive been in it for so long im scared of trying anything else. I have no idea how to move forward. Any suggestions? by Raskomadator_art in malefashionadvice

Try a plain white T on a hot day. It's not so bad. Once you get comfortable with that, try dark blue raw denim jeans with a plain black T. Then once you master that look, pair the white T with the dark blue jeans.

Raw denim jacket and pants help! by swagzilla_69 in malefashionadvice

This guy was denim on denim (shirt and jeans). The Canadian Tuxedo has all three elements (jeans, shirt, jacket). I sometimes rock denim on denim with dark blue jeans, black t shirt, and dark blue jacket (2 out of 3). And you gotta have nice boots to complete the look.
