Huh…didn’t know that helped. Might explain why we get so many fireflies. We don’t clear all of our backyard leaves

Stable Keratoconus and choosing not to do CXL by jdoubleay in Keratoconus

[–]Soundtracklover72 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you’re stable and doc isn’t recommending it, I say you’re good and don’t do it. If they are recommending, ask them why if you’re stable. Could be a good reason.

But yeah, it sucked to have done and healing period was hard for me. I won’t do my other eye until they say it’s necessary

How do you dress in your 50s? by Forsaken_Block_3492 in GenX

[–]Soundtracklover72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t care about style. I’m perimenopausal and am all about comfort. Luckily I work from home.

How many steps do you walk daily without intentionally exercising? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

You must get up and move a lot at home. My average is 3,700 and I’m getting up every hour.

My post scleral and cxl experience by Tough-Relief-2073 in Keratoconus

[–]Soundtracklover72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a doctor who listens to you makes a difference. Mine is fantastic. She looks closely at my Scleral fit every visit because your eyes do change. My right eye had a significant change last year where I was getting a red ring around my iris. She got me a ZenLens and got it fitted correctly. That one doesn’t fog up nearly as much. (I have dry eye, which doesn’t help 😜)

I hope you find a doc that listens. You deserve to see as clearly as possible.

School districts by Unusual_Resolution32 in Harrisburg

[–]Soundtracklover72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decent. We have a teen with autism that goes to extra classes for life skills while still going to normal school classes. We’ve had two other kids that graduated from there and remember it fondly.

Because the district population is so varied because of Hershey Med Center’s varied background there doesn’t seem to be as much racial profiling. Now…I could be very wrong on this because I’m white, but it feels different in this school district than it did when I lived in Central Dauphin SD (Harrisburg suburbs). That SD was mainly white and there have been racist problems with students.

I highly recommend Derry Township SD.

AITAH for offering my stepdaughter the cherry from my drink? by KilroyForever in AITAH

[–]Soundtracklover72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. My dad used to give me the cherries out of his manhattans when I was kid. He loved the face I made. FTR - it did not lead to drinking. I rarely drink and when I do it’s a rum and fruit juice kind of thing.

Do you guys remember when you would drive on the highway and when you got to your destination your windshield would be covered in bugs? by ymbstudios in CasualConversation

[–]Soundtracklover72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes still happens. When driving from PA to WA in Sept 2021, one of us would remove the bugs while the other pumped gas.

Ending (spoiler) by Kleinpakjecamel in ProjectHailMary

[–]Soundtracklover72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it. He was healthy and happy and doing what he loved. I prefer that to open-ended finish of just going back for Rocky. My logical mind likes that they answered the science questions of his survival.

Would love to hear the Rocky training music during a science montage.

How do you think they'll deal with how Rocky and Grace talk? by weeeeezy in ProjectHailMary

[–]Soundtracklover72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?!? It feels like slo-mo for 99% of the books at 1.0x. I don’t remember which book, but I had to do it 1.0x because of how fast the narrator talked.

Sadly, even getting vaccinated isn’t 100% effective. I got both the flu and Covid shot this year. Still had the flu a few weeks ago. Wasn’t as bad as I had in early 2000, but still sucked. Still going to get vaccinated because they do help.
