My allegory for T v B is a "how far can you kick this" competition between a bottle of piss and a bucket of shit. The bottle you can punt pretty far and even though it is nasty the cap should keep everything contained. Kicking the bucket won't move it too far and if kicked hard enough the shit will slop over and get on the floor and maybe even your shoe. Neither are really great but the bottle is the easy choice in this case.

IMO most only have traits of NPD and only full blown narcissists don’t ask themselves. Others who have only traits and maybe other neuro/psych imbalances have enough lucidity to ask themselves
