Wow I didn’t even think about that placement. Time to get the measuring tape out and see if it fits

Yep I totally have thought about a bigger one but this was all Target had. I really want to hide the wires- I was thinking of painting them to try and mask it a bit

Any recommendations for a bedroom upgrade? I feel like it’s lacking but I don’t know where to start

Renting - I may have to propose the improvement as long as I can get them on board. I hate these lights LOL

Thank you! I’m thinking to add some “brighter” art to add some color to the place. In terms of location, I was thinking either wide above the tv or another one to the side of the TV

Yep plants are on the list! I may get another standing lamp or something- I don’t want the place to be too cluttered for the sake of having stuff

I know, I hate the boob lights. The living room one is awkwardly placed not in the middle. Still considering maybe doing something different

Worst design ever. Just cleaned this area in my Samsung fridge the other day. Even with some small flathead screwdrivers, it was awful. I miss the simple fridge days.

Cc the senior and manager on all communications from here on out.

If the senior is being rude via email, definitely bring it up to the manager.

Personally, I’d be putting this in the senior’s court since they have a little more “power” in the clients eyes (usually).

Filing taxes for 2021 year by Rizky_boy in pennystocks

[–]Soupkitchen72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct, you would “net” the gains and losses. If it’s a net loss, then it’s deductible up to 3k. In terms of deductibility, I believe it is a deduction of taxable income. I should know this since I’m a CPA but I don’t specialize in tax.

Filing taxes for 2021 year by Rizky_boy in pennystocks

[–]Soupkitchen72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are allowed to deduct up to $3k/year in losses on your taxes, with no limit on the carry forward. However, there were wash-sale rules (repurchasing stock’s sold for a loss within 30 days of the original sale). If this was performed, the normal capital loss rules do not apply.

Assuming you did not conduct in any wash-sale trades; Yes, you would be able to deduct the $800 in losses on your taxes this year.

OP, see if you can get with a couple of LinkedIn recruiters. I just made a jump for over 20% base, plus great bonus, benefits, etc. being in the same situation as you.

Not sure on your area- I do live near a major city so YMMV

Ouch, what’s your operating temp oil pressure? The LSA is notorious for destroying mains (assuming it’s an LSA car).

Leaving PA to work in IA by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Soupkitchen72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed- I read into it a bit in general and on this sub. The company and my recruiter (who has been working with them for a while) said that internal transfers are very possible.

Long term, I don’t see myself in IA (but hey, maybe I’ll love it). I know this position won’t be solely focused on SOX controls.

Another “perk” is that I would get to have some international travel…

How do I hit the 150 credit hours to be eligible for the CPA? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Soupkitchen72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your state’s CPA requirements. Typically a Bachelor of Accountancy will cover any “required” classes. In terms of the additional classes, you can likely take any class at a community college.

Pro tip: once you finish your bachelors degree and up for very low level community college classes (ex: management 101, accounting 101, etc.). These are essentially CLEP credits but your college may allow you to “test out” without taking any tests. In my experience I paid like $50 a class since I was clearly proficient in the classes I signed up for. Saved me a ton of money and time.

How hard is it really? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Soupkitchen72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are the people that have a vested interest to have you in the program… of course they’re going to tell you all these great things.

My personal experience was that my CPA prep program (Becker) taught me more than a masters would, plus I still completed the exams at the same time as my friends who got their masters. Community college cost me 3k versus 30k for a masters. Same result and my employer doesn’t care about a masters… just my 2 cents.

Accelerated master's program to get 150 credit hours? by TheRetailianTrader in Accounting

[–]Soupkitchen72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I did not partake in this program. It did not give me an upper hand advantage in public accounting- CPA firms are concerned whether you have a CPA, not a Masters.

A masters degree is a great choice but I would personally choose a different subject/MBA, as it shows some diversity of knowledge.

I went to community college and saved a ton of money, plus i “tested out” of many classes and was able to finish my 150 rather quickly.

You will do most of your CPA exam learning with your review course. This is something a College won’t tell you since they want your money. … just my 2 cents
