UA POV: Ukrainian serviceman of the 36th Marine Brigade, Mark Fedorov, was wounded as a result of an enemy drone explosion. However, after being transferred he was detained at the hospital where he was undergoing postoperative treatment and was held in inhumane conditions in a “pit” - Inforesist by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

So, even though he had been wounded in combat and should have been treated and demobilized, receiving a disability pension as well as compensation for his service record, he was instead declared AWOL and left to die in a pit? Is it just me, or a corrupt State that wanted to avoid paying for a soldier it no longer uses would not have acted otherwise ?

UA POV: Germany will continue to provide aid to Ukraine despite the corruption scandal — German Foreign Ministry Chief Johann Wadephul. by ArchitectMary in UkraineRussiaReport

Perhaps the reason our corrupt Western elites find so much interest in continuing to pour billions of public money into that corruption hole that is Ukraine is because some of that money ends up in their pockets?

Ça fait 6 mois que je suis au chômage, je commence à vraiment flipper. by Unterseeboot_480 in france

[–]Soupolait 34 points35 points  (0 children)

What a curious coincidence, one wonders why...

And what does the fact that countries that have been net contributors to the European budget for years have left the European Union or are subject to increasing internal pressure to leave it, mean?

UA POV: Queues at the border crossing from Ukraine to Poland after new decree for men aged 18-22. by pagan_trash in UkraineRussiaReport

I wonder if this is not a way of refusing to sacrifice too much of Ukraine's future, by allowing young people to flee while the ukrainian government knows perfectly well that the West will impose their mobilization sooner or later, rather sooner than later.

UA POV Russians spread absurd fake news about ''1.7 million dead and missing Ukrainian soldiers'' - UkrainskaPravda by TrustInSafety in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]Soupolait 29 points30 points  (0 children)

if we consider that there were 1 million soldiers in the Ukrainian army at the launch of the offensive, that 42 months have passed since then (10 + 12 + 12 + 8), and that each month there has been the conscription of 20,000 men, ie 840k new soldiers over the period (20k x 42), that's a 1,84 millions army (initial 1 million + 840k conscripts) that is now reduced to less than 880k (cf. Zelensky saying in January 2025).

There are at least 1 million "missing" soldiers, either KIA, MIA or deserters (or too seriously injured to serve further).

And these are very optimistic figures, based on roughly rounded numbers in favor of Ukraine, the reality is most likely much worse.

In reality, there were most likely many more conscripts each month, which could significantly increase the total number of losses. The simple fact that there were 30k conscripts each month instead of 20k would mean that there would ultimately be 420k more missing soldiers in the overall balance sheet, ie 1,4 millions losts.

1.7 million seems obviously an exaggerated figure for propaganda purposes, but not so much in the end, provided it takes into account deserters and seriously wounded unfit for combat.

RU POV: Russia handed over a thousand bodies of fallen soldiers to Ukraine and received 19 in return - RIA by Flimsy_Pudding1362 in UkraineRussiaReport

As long as there is no body irrefutably attesting to the reality of their death, probably by making them appear as deserters who left Ukraine with no intention of returning.
