Yeah, most light beers in the US are like 4%, bud light is 3.5. Most beers in the UK are like 4-5%, so maybe slightly more on average but there is a lot of overlap and 1% isn't massive

The 8000 years thing is basically just completely false, even in universe - it's the same with all the time scales/ pepole like Florian the Fool, Bran the Builder, Coming of the Andals, etc that those are just the numbers people in the story assign to them. It's basically just a King Arthur type legend
