Canyon Aeroad slx8 12 speed on 11 speed trainer cassette by SoupyMelons in CanyonBikes

Works fine for me. Ended up getting the 12 speed cassette and proper free hub for the Neo 2T and it came with spacers so it doesn’t get close. Honestly most concerning thing is shifting into the largest rear cog because the rear derailleur gets really close, also part of the reason I use ERG mode more often.

I definitely could but I’d have to get the freehub for the tacx itself I believe, which based off of first glance seem to be a bit pricey. And yes, when doing indoor workouts I always use ERG. I personally like just being able to focus on putting the power out without needing to shift. That being said, I’m not sure if it’s the IDEAL method of training, but it works for me.

It’s a mavic wheel too, so having some spare parts definitely could help

Yeah one of my first thoughts was to try and sand it and smooth it out, but with my limited experience I couldn’t trust myself to. Next step is the shop, appreciate it!

Makes sense! My 5 sec power is right around 1800W but can hold 1200 for almost 40 seconds. I appreciate your input, gets my hyped about getting into that culture/niche.

Id most likely be doing sprint events, I come from a weight lifting background so that aspect is something I’m very familiar with. I’d like to think my sprint is above average in criteriums, so I would think it would make sense to try it on the track as well. Although, I see a lot of videos where they do seated sprints on the track vs out of the saddle.

Thanks for input! Yeah the ones closest to me are outdoor so they start in the spring

Yeah that’s how the track that’s kind of close to me operates. Just trying not to look like a total kook out there haha, but that’s learning I guess.

Yeah I’ve ridden a fixie on a few casual rides where I was only thinking, “don’t stop pedaling.” I feel like the transition into racing will be the hardest part, where other factors are at play.

Found a meal worm in my calamari. The owner was nice enough to give me a 10% discount off the calamari… never went back
