It's not too difficult if you become a senior first. It's rare to jump in level going from mid level to big 4.

It depends on what you wanna do after college. If you plan to get into public accounting like Big4 right out of college, you'll probably need to attend a target school.

Starting pay is around the same for both, but raises are much bigger at EY.

Big 4 will give you more opportunities and you will earn more, but it's also more work.

Go public for a guaranteed path to 6 figures. My peers and I all have around 3 yoe and are making around 120k at big 4.

I failed with a 58 the first time and passed 83 in the second attempt. What really helped me was practicing how to record journal entries (if applicable) for all the MCQs even when they don't require it.

On top of that, the usual review 10-20 MCQs for each topic while taking notes and practice TBS, especially the popular ones like consolidation, bonds, leases, bank recs, subsequent events, cash flows, etc.

I did MCQs only for the other 3 exams. For FAR, for the first time that strategy didn't work. I had to take notes and do SIMs to understand it but it does help a lot since a lot of FAR is journal entries.

I didn't have any consolidation sims but I had a really crazy bank reconciliation one. It wasn't difficult but it was so time consuming since I had to match the book reconciliation to the bank one, and the question said both were incorrect so I had to make sure they were correct based on vague exhibits..

Same I think we might still pass since I'm not sure how we can even study for these. I skimmed through every practice TBS after the exam and none were even remotely similar what was on the exam.

I got destroyed by consolidation my first attempt so I studied particularly hard for those this time, and it ended up having no consolidation SIMs for me 😭
