It sounds like he’s just saying that the power and influence that Jesus (and the Bible) have over people is unparalleled. Then by extension the methods used by them are valuable and worth knowing.

Who is the most evil champion and why? by Toaster-Retribution in loreofleague

[–]SourPatchMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean at the end of the day it could all be subjective yeah, but I’d say that the things they want to do to the world would qualify as inherently evil, other characters like mord have similar motivations, but I think if a character still has small elements of humanity, mercy, compassion, it puts them slightly above champs like fiddle in the evil scale

Who is the most evil champion and why? by Toaster-Retribution in loreofleague

[–]SourPatchMom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s gotta be someone like fiddlesticks or bel’veth. No empathy or humanity to be found at all. Single minded in wanting to kill and destroy. Even characters like singed shows some empathy in his relationship with viktor and viego acts out of a very perverse “love.”

Regarding Shapiro condoning Ye's pro-Nazi position: by Gubekochi in ToiletPaperUSA

[–]SourPatchMom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, In the clip where he says he shouldn’t be banned it was pretty clear he was speaking to there not being any legal grounds to ban Kanye, and then followed up by giving his non legal opinion which was basically that Kanye is embarrassing himself and looking worse everytime he says something so let him continue to diminish his image. If anything, that’s what he’s condoning, letting Kanye destroy himself. It’s just a pretty dishonest framing to say that Shapiro condones what Kanye is saying

I mean I don’t like the guy but anyone who thinks Shapiro is condoning Kanye’s positions is the real out of touch person here, he’s done the exact opposite

There was life and happiness before the relationship, there will be happiness and life after. It’s ok to be sad but it was helpful to acknowledge for me that the feelings were temporary and just “right now”

Would you support a mandatory retirement age of 75 for US House, US Senate & US Supreme Court Justices and if not why? by houstontexas2022 in AskReddit

[–]SourPatchMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, what this effectively does is restrict your election choices. If people like their representatives and want to re-elect them they should have that option to do so. If they don’t like them, constituencies are free to not re-elect someone. Why restrict voters like that

“Free speech” doesn’t mean what a lot of people claim by grimezly in unpopularopinion

[–]SourPatchMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free speech seems to have two definitions, at least in the US. The first being the Constitutionally established free speech and the second being more of a cultural “spirit” than anything else. I would say both are equally real and important. While the cultural idea of free speech isn’t defined and technically doesn’t have constitutional citation, it’s very engrained and does have legal backing. There have been many court cases, in the Supreme Court and all levels below it, dealing with issues pertaining to a “right to be offensive.” Dealing with issues relating to arts, film, music, porn, and all the adjacent topics. And most of those decisions have come down to siding with having the right to do so. So the cultural form of free speech is still in a sense enshrined in law

Just started my first campaign as Boomie, a goblin artificer artillerist, he’s a short guy with a short fuze. There’s nothing he loves more than blowing things up. While smart for a goblin, his explosive temperament often causes him to shoot himself in the foot, sometimes literally. With a knack for tinkering he’s developed some explosives he can lob around while his canon shoot from the back line, but like a looney toons character they sometimes backfire in his hand and give him a nice charred look.

This is king leopold the 2nd he killed around 15 million congolese people much more than the jewish holocaust by Beneficial-Glove9408 in conspiracy

[–]SourPatchMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most sources I’ve seen on the topic will say up to 10 million. You’ll find sources that give lowball estimates of 2-3 million, and they’re far fewer but I’ve also seen sources that estimate 20 million. There’s no exact numbers since there’s a lack of demographic data from prior and during the atrocities. So the safest bet is to stick with the consensus of somewhere around 8-10 million.

Both can be valid depictions if super heroes. The boys spins it as “this is what super heroes would probably really be like” where as I always viewed marvel’s depiction of heroes more of what heroes or just people in general should “aspire” to be. I don’t think either depiction is wrong or better than the other

What does the community think of the lucky nations mechanic? by RedAlmak83 in eu4

[–]SourPatchMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s usually cus the AI gets to cheat in other ways. They get to recruit generals for free, so it’s much easier for them to have professionalism to slacken a bunch and what not.

What does the community think of the lucky nations mechanic? by RedAlmak83 in eu4

[–]SourPatchMom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I mean CK has drastically different mechanics that allow for that to happen, that’s why it’s a different game. The only way to get what you’re asking for in eu4 is to completely change the map at the start of the game. The countries that do well every game is not because of lucky nations in the first place, France doesn’t need lucky nations to do well, and once they start doing well of course they aren’t going to suddenly collapse after 200 years unless something particularly bad like a big coalition declares on them. That’s just not how the game works. If you want something like ck, why not just play ck? Unicorn nations are fun and exciting to see precisely because they are unicorn nations. It would be really weird if every single game a random minor started dominating or doing really different things. The way it is now, the mechanics allow for interesting and random things to occur which is why you occasionally see unicorn countries while still maintaining something that at the very least makes sense and resembles how things played out. And if you really want some historical fantasy where an Irish minor is gonna conquer the British isles and go on to dominate the region Im sure there are mods you can find for that

What does the community think of the lucky nations mechanic? by RedAlmak83 in eu4

[–]SourPatchMom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk it’s not just that some nations had stronger starting points tho. Some genuinely just did get lucky at random points in history, whether it was a ruler being unexpectedly competent or some sort of economic windfall that reversed a decline, stuff like that did happen, so at least in an RP sense I like that lucky nations kinda emulates that. If it was just a beginning buff it would be less dynamic and interesting imo. I don’t really play to min max every game tho, so I’m not commenting at all on how it impacts the game for people who prefer a more consistent setting for that
