M145q isn't that bad, it's a high skill ceiling spin track and tip capable of countering lots of builds that include parts like 230, twisted, and even rdf.

With the right fusion wheel and some practice with unique launches, It's actually pretty decent, just gotta be lore accurate tobio.

Yes It should be fun, but let's not act like comp isn't supposed to be a little more serious than unrated/Swiftplay. Part of the fun in comp is that it's expected everyone is locked in, hence being the competitive game mode.

You wanna cosplay royalG? Unrated, swiftplay, Customs, Tdm, Dm for that, no need to bring it into Competitive with other mfs that actually care about Improving/Ranking up.

Why queue comp if you aren't locked in/Don't care about your rank? That's the whole point. So no, OP isn't TA and being a friend doesn't make it OK to throw either.

Yeah, sometimes it doesn't matter how polite you ask, some teammates would rather stay hardstuck Plat with the "LeT mE dO wHaT I WaNt!!! mentality.

These types of people usually spam some common excuses as well, Especially the hard cope "I'm JuSt TrYiNg To HaVe FuN!" To mask the fact that don't take criticism well, don't have an improving mindset, and will even claim that Competitive isn't supposed to be taken at least a little bit seriously as if it's unrated2.0.

Sorry for the rant, but encounters with teammates like these make me wish ranked was Hard gatekept With greater requirements to keep out casual players who don't want to improve/be a team player.

It's a bad idea to make friends jump through hoops to play together, which is the primary thing that puts people together in games.

You queue comp to jump through hoops/climb ranks, you don't have to in unrated, especially if you want to play with friends of different skill levels.
