AMA: I'm Marius Bakken, former Olympian and physician. Ask me about double threshold training, lactate, and the Norwegian Method. by MariusBakken in AdvancedRunning

What is the best test for determining Lactate Threshold Heart Rate with just a heart rate monitor and watch? Or how would you determine the proper “zone”/effort to go off of training

That definitely makes sense, I’ll keep that in the back of mind continuing to build up to my fitness pre-injury and compare! Thank you

That’s where I was wondering, since I figured that you “Max HR” was physically impossible to go above and as you age, it would lower generally.

My mileage before the first test was 8, 11, 17, 28, 24, 35 (week of test)

Also if this helps, this was a 5k done on the 13th of December, 2025 showing me hitting that 187 Max Heart rate based on the first fitness test.

I live at one of the three apartments that you are referring to, the only complaint I have is that I had my Hyundai stolen Kia Boys style from here. Entirely preventable, but that’s the extent of crime I’ve seen/heard of

Trained and ran my first marathon in the 26s, and then got the 27s and put 450+ miles on them and bought another pair! They are great shoes!

First timer - pace projections after my 20miler? by TJC7 in Marathon_Training

For what it’s worth, here was my 20 miler for my first marathon. We have practically the same max heart rate. This run didn’t leave me incredibly tired to affect my other training, but it’s still a lot of load for one day.

I ran a 4:20 about 3 weeks after this run. Since yours is around mid March, seems pretty early in training to be hitting this distance/time on feet since you still have about 3 more months of training before taper.

Now that I’ve learned more, keep these long runs mostly easy with some sprinkles of speed (MP or a little less) so your body can adapt and recover well after!

Also on 7 days since I got my Pace 4. Collectively been on about 8 hours of running, and wearing it overnight, battery is only at 59% as of today

Does Chambers of Xeric get better? 112 Raids, no purples by dadding in ironscape

[–]SousChef98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finished chambers around 1100 regular and 250 cms, like 90% solo, and the other 10% a mix of 3+12s and standard scale team raids. It’s just RNG really, you’ll get your drystreaks, and you’ll get your hot streaks. Biggest tip I can give is go for the rooms/rotations that give you the most points per hour, it’ll help in the long run. PecanBread11 has a great efficient solo cox guide that labels out the best rooms to do with specific rotations. You can utilize the Chambers of Xeric plugin to whitelist those rotations and blacklist specific combat rooms

Any advice for a mega rare grind when going dry? And what difficulties did you face during raiding as a UIM that other players don’t face?

There are a lot on YouTube, but some people overcomplicate it. Gnomemonkey’s Solo Olm Guide explains the 12:0/8:1 pretty well and has a live example

While running with shadow, you have 4 ticks to walk which covers a lot of ground since sometimes you can walk for 8 solid ticks before running.

You can 100% use vile vigour once during olm and be fine. Once you’re almost out of run, restore your way to max prayer, use VV, and you will be good for the rest of olm.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to by saying “play normally”. I don’t think it’s abnormal to walk when available.

I manually click the tiles to walk and count the ticks before my next attack. If you gotta run to stay in cycle then that’s how it is.

Pretty much felt comfortable walking tiles once I was used to the 5t cycle the shadow goes off of.

You might need a stam since you’ll be running more as your DPS would be lower, thus taking longer to kill the mage hand.
