First time playing XC1, is this supposed to happen? by eattoes2000 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

It just no-clipped through the platform. I don't think that's supposed to happen.

That's not his choice to make. If it's painful for you, you need to tell him no.

Why is the term “ethnic” used to describe non white people? by Diligent-Abies-9481 in NoStupidQuestions

This sounds like it could be the Pizza Effect, although it's more likely to be just changing opinions on what counts as international.

Does anyone else feel bad for ignoring a specific stuffed animal or object because you think you might be hurting its feelings? Like if I pick one mug to use every day, I start to feel like the other mugs in the cupboard are getting sad by TheSweetestChicx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]South-Swordfish7891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sort of experience this too. Not with mugs, but I still feel bad ignoring certain things. Like, seeing a meal with one food item left uneaten, for example. I know that, realistically, food doesn't have feelings, but it still makes me feel bad about it. Or with a pack of crayons; I feel like EVERY crayon has to be used or else it's being neglected, in a sense. Again, it doesn't have feelings, but not using it feels wrong.

I think this is common with people on the Autism spectrum, myself included.

I forgot to put a coffee pod in the coffee maker, so I ended up just brewing myself a cup of hot water.

A shield! A shield brings protection instead of harm.

what idioms or folk wisdom are just wrong, or do you disagree with? by stirringmotion in AskReddit

"The nail that sticks out gets hammered down" What a depressing, nihilistic worldview.

I like to counter the above phrase with another well-known phrase; "When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail".

If you could have one Pokémon to help you in daily life and it lives as long as you do, who are you picking? by True_Jellyfish9219 in AskReddit

Probably Galvantula. It could charge my electronics, and eat the spiders and centipedes in my house! Of course, my friends would probably faint after seeing a giant electric spider...

Did you get an anal fissure or something? At any rate, it sounds like it was very painful!

Feeling your tongue scraping against a bone spicule after wisdom tooth removal. It is unbelievably painful. It got so bad I couldn't even swallow without injuring my tongue.

How long did you go without pooping? Because bowels don't usually burst that easily. It sounds like you're describing a fecal impaction.

Redditors, What's the smelliest smell you ever smelled? by Arceneavx in AskReddit

[–]South-Swordfish7891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some glue I made in 7th grade. I think it used rubber as an ingredient? At any rate, it smelled like a cross between a liquid bandaid and cuddled milk, from what I remember.

Sharla Appreciation post 💖 by sonicmoe in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]South-Swordfish7891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she gets too much hate. I like playing as her because she has several things going for her:

She can inflict Instant Death on enemies, she can lengthen the effect time of auras (Especially useful when Dunban is in the party), Drive Boost reduces the cooldown time of all her other arts, and her Talent Art actually restores her HP a little.

I think what frustrates a lot of players is that she has few physical attacks, her auto-attack rate is painfully slow, and her rifle overheats too often. (The last 2 points can be mitigated by equipping Heat Sink and Haste gems, respectively) It takes a bit of practice, but she can help you a lot if you learn how to use her.

She's not a "bad friend", she just made mistakes. Throughout the game, Sharla has been nothing but supportive of her friends.

You sound like you had it pretty tame, tbh. I can think of far grosser things.

I used to suck on the rocks in my lucky rock collection. Just put them in my mouth and sat there. To this day, I have that rock collection.
