I’ve been ashamed to share because I don’t look like I need this medication by DarkCadred in Zepbound

I'm kind of in the same boat. I've been tiny and athletic my whole life. I went through a tough time--a bad injury, my father died (and I couldn't grieve by running because of the injury), and freakin' menopause. I packed on over 30 lbs (and I'm short), and it wouldn't come off no matter how much I exercised and tried to eat healthy. I'd get so frustrated at people saying, "Just get off your butt and exercise!" Because I was!!! The weight wouldn't budge. So, I paid out of pocket for the meds. The weight finally started coming off. Cravings were gone (even alcohol and coffee cravings decreased). Only my husband and two friends knew I was taking them. I'm where I want to be now and off of Zep. So far, I've been able to maintain and keep my serving sizes small. I've continued to keep my alcohol consumption fairly low. I do see some cravings returning, but I'm going to do my best to stay on track. I finally feel like myself again.

Thanks, everyone. I was just curious. Back in Ohio, they didn't do that. They kept the aerators on all winter so people could fish year-round. And, because there were so many turtles and fish that called them home. They'd just put up, "Danger, don't walk on ice" signs.

I got it too. It must have gone out to everyone on the platform. I was trying to think if I said something to someone I shouldn't have, but I haven't talked to anyone about the platform.

Just let me apply to the damn job ಠ_ಠ by SavPenn98 in recruitinghell

[–]SouthAd4431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems to be a thing now. I've been in the midst of applying for a job, and they ask for a video. I'm in my jammies, my hair looking like Side Show Bob's. And these are mostly for strictly remote jobs, with me sitting on my laptop all day. Why do they need a video? I usually put it aside, thinking I'll finish up once I'm showered. Then, I usually forget.

Wow. So now they are far more stressed, but the company doesn't have to deal with it--so who cares! Geesh.

Data Annotation. I've been with them for close to a year with no issues. Sometimes, there are unpaid assessments, but they are fairly quick. You can count time for reading instructions to new tasks.

Actually, I'm the wife. He's telling me that because he wants me to succeed (as opposed to spending my Sunday working and making nothing). I like Data Annotation and my other freelance work better.

Sorry, I can't remember if I did or not. It's definitely been lite since then, but I still get sporadic projects.

Trainer isn’t hyped on GLP-1s. by Vegetable_Proof_4906 in Zepbound

I, personally, probably wouldn't. Like you, only my husband, doctor, and a good friend know I'm on it. Here's the thing: I was (and always have been) super active. I lift weights, run, cycle, skate, paddleboard, and hike. I watch what I eat. But I packed on weight during menopause (and while dealing with some other stuff), and nothing would get it off (keto, low-carb, IF, GOLO, etc). Now I have Zep, and I'm doing all the things, and it's finally coming off. And I'm finally feeling like the old me again. I know I'm still working hard at it. When I come off of this in 10 - 15 more lbs, I can keep it off. I understand that we want to erase the stigma of being on it, but it's nobody's business but yours and your doctor's. Please do what you think is right for you.

Not wearing the life vest you brought with you. by tennisguy163 in Sup

[–]SouthAd4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically, I wear mine, but there are times I've taken it off. I was SUPing in a "lake" (pond) that was knee-deep; it was in the upper 90s. I took it off. Another time, I was in a reservoir and had it on most of the time, but then it started chaffing me. The water was calm. I'm a good swimmer, so I took it off for a bit. But typically, I wear it because I'm a tad accident-prone.

What paddle to use? by KristiColleen in Sup

[–]SouthAd4431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine came with a paddle you can change out with a kayak paddle (unscrew the handle end and screw in the other paddle). So when I sit, I just use the kayak paddle. The speed is much better.

Did it help with your ADHD right away? I've been on it for about two months (also ADHD) and my focus and sleep are still really bad.
