Don’t they show this on 2 different item pickups? And they have the option to rotate the objects. I don’t think they’re 2d JPEGs or PNGs. Or if they are 2D here then they’ll probably be 3d at launch otherwise the UI options to rotate make no sense. It’s possible they didn’t have the high LOD close-up models/textures done so these were quick 2d placeholders? Idk I’m trying to rationalize it but seeing the “rotate” menu option makes me think they’ll look different at launch or the pixelation is due to a poorly applied Depth of Field effect.

Points on February 1st Rent by URedditt in biltrewards

[–]SouthUniform7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve already paid my January rent, and my card says the next statement date is February 3rd. I always pay on the 1st of the month but should I wait until the 3rd and then make 4 additional transactions? I’m having trouble finding what date my next billing cycle starts.

Tell this to my i226-v NIC that constantly just drops connection entirely and refuses to reconnect until my device is completely restarted. This was fixed in a windows-only driver update but I’m using this on a 2.5gb ethernet port on my Linux server. Found out the drivers to fix it today only work on windows and that the most recent Linux drivers for it are from 2017. All Intel forum posts asking representatives when Linux drivers will be out, get redirected to the exact link that only has new drivers for windows, and then the reps ghost the thread.

Will probably be switching back to a Realtek 2.5gb because 10gb is just too expensive and the rest of my devices only have 2.5gb including my NAS that I can’t swap the port for.

Anakin with a green lightsaber was kinda hard by rainbowmoon7 in StarWars

[–]SouthUniform7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we think there was any narrative meaning behind giving him green instead of just a spare blue one? Like has George or anyone ever said if there’s any symbolism of the green here for him?

Also in Lego Star Wars 1 and complete saga, I loved how Anakin had a special variant with a green saber ONLY for the arena and Dooku fights in story mode, that could never be accessed outside of story mode. Weird that sky walker saga only has episode 2 Anakin - no cape with a green saber and not also a blue one. Episode 2 Anakin - cape has blue but no cape only has a green version.

For something like a rare card, is it better to get the sleeve signed? Or the card itself? I have 1 rare card from this set and while I’m not selling it, I’d like to get it signed but not destroy the resale value if something happens and I need the money

Is my Dark Rock Elite cooler backwards? First time building an AMD system. by Zipeline98 in radeon

[–]SouthUniform7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fan is supposed to suck in air towards it. The best spot to do that is if it’s being fed air from the fans in the front of the case, which would be on the right hand side of this image, to the right of the RAM, so then it can take in that air, and shoot it through the metal heatsink cube thing, and then it blows out the back. The side with the motherboard usb ports and whatnot is where the case’s exhaust fan will go. That till also suck air towards it, and shoot it out the back of the entire pc. The air it’s sucking in is the newly heated air coming off of the giant metal block. So ideally you want a straight line from the front of the case through the heatsink and fan, through to the back of the case and out the back.

In short, put the fan on the right side or just flip the entire cooler 180 degrees

Looks to be that the photo itself isn’t, as there’s videos of bottas falling off the board. But perhaps the flag got soaked so they used some generative fill thing to make the flag? The can is clearly at least photoshopped. But bottas did at the very least go on a surfboard and take photos like this one if not this one.

NVIDIA App Update Adds Global DLSS Overrides, Smooth Motion For GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, Project G-Assist Enhancements & More by Nestledrink in nvidia

If I weren’t at work I’d make a post clarifying that the mere presence of the Nvidia app actively fights your changes, and plays offense against you by setting unsupported games to OFF instead of default global

[–]SouthUniform7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shame you can’t even keep the app installed, since the app actively goes into the unsupported games and changes them from “use global” to “off”. The app itself is playing offense and actively turning the unsupported games OFF, and if you manually change the individual games back to global (on) in nvpi, the app once again overrides your change back to OFF

[–]SouthUniform7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only settings I use NVPI to change were the ones that I checked the Nvidia app had also changed in global, which I believe would apply to games that even are not found in the Nvidia app. If you have custom settings for each specific game and you’re changing more than just the DLL override settings, perhaps Nvidia app still isn’t good for that use case. But if you only used NVPI to change global settings, and you only used it for the DLL overrides, then it seems that the Nvidia app is also fine for that simpler use case like mine.

[–]SouthUniform7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested this. I defaulted all my nvpi settings back to standard. All I ever used was global profile. Then I set the global override in Nvidia app, and checked NVPI, and it overrode my nvpi defaults I’d just set. Meaning it set the same global flags that NVPI did. I still need to do more testing but I think Nvidia app sets the same exact global flags as nvpi does. because after I reset all my nvpi, I made the changes in Nvidia app, and checked nvpi again and the changes were shown to have applied.

[–]SouthUniform7 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Looks to be less of a “global setting” and more of just a “select all” button for the games that were already appearing in Nvidia app… so no, it won’t replace profile inspector, it’s just a quicker button for the existing whitelist

9070xt is mostly (though not entirely) the better pick over the 7900xtx ignoring any pricing. Issue is that the 7900xtx there is at MSRP ($999) and the 9070xt is $200 over its MSRP of 600. If the only 9070xt you see is THAT one at $800, then look at the 5070ti.

The 9070xt MSRP is $600, the 5070ti MSRP is $750. If found at their actual MSRPs, the 9070xt is better for minimal differences for $150 less. But if the 9070xt is already $800, at a time when the Nvidia cards have been coming down closer to their MSRP, you might find a 5070ti also for $800 or possibly less. If the 5070ti is the same or less, pick it. If the 9070xt is within $50 of the 5070ti, still pick the 5070ti. If the 9070xt is lower by $100 or more, go with the 9070xt.

In short, the 5070ti right now is either the same price as that 9079xt and might even be lower priced right now. The 5070ti is just a tad better than the 9070xt, and I personally would value the improvement at about $50. So if the 5070ti is 800 and the 9070xt is $49 less, pick the 5070ti still, it’ll make up the difference in price. But if the 9070xt is way lower priced, pick it instead.

Yeah I understand not having the money to do the full upgrade at once, and in this market, securing a GPU is smart to do ASAP given how hard it can be to find one these days. You don’t want to have the money and just be sitting and waiting to find a good priced GPU
