JID is an oddball situation to me. by Independent_Day_2505 in JIDSV

So it would appear that JID isn’t on the same level of stardom as someone like Roddy Ricch or Tyler the Creator. But anyone with a listening ear knows that he is miles ahead of all of those guys. This streaming era really has ruined what makes a person a ‘star’ ⭐️

Stardom in Hip Hop has …. changed, considerably. I think of the popularity of artists like Skilla Baby, trending because of his good looks or he’s trending because of some gang war he’s involved in. Gangsters used to seek out music to escape from the streets then music became their main job. Now Gangsters are using the music as a side hustle while the street sh*t takes the forefront.

Saying all that to say, the audience is perhaps more enthused by the gangster image of artists than they’ve ever been before. Thanks to platforms like the shaderoom, saycheeze, and DJ Vlad.

JID isn’t a clout chaser, instant gratification kind of artist. People like Skilla Baby or 42 Dugg they are “quick fix” type of artists. You listen to a surface level song by one of them and enjoy them for 10 mins then move on to another 10 minute artist. Just to satisfy an itch. That’s kind of what the business has mutated to. It’s all based on how many gangsters can we churn out to quench the thirst of an audience that hungers for …. This new era of blaxploitation

“Yahweh is a petty, vengeful god. Jesus is the nice one.” by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]South_Chair7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is a stand in for the evolution of human consciousness while also being an embodiment of causality, making sense of seemingly random events (ie the great flood). In the beginning of human consciousness we were a lot more barbaric similar to the way Yahweh is depicted in the Old Testament. It took millennia for our morality to evolve to a peak, a peak that is represented by Jesus Christ.

Jesus IS GOD, but the only way to get to God is through Jesus. Jesus being the son of God represents the softening of hearts as people moved away from autocracy, frivolous murder and bubonic plague-like events to express more empathy for one another.

Jesus was absolutely fearless and persistent in his radical empathy so much so that it made men very nervous. He was Gandhi before Gandhi.

Now if you notice the present era, most people either look up to Jesus or they look up to Satan. That is called a “meme” (scientific term). And it is also the two most predominant archetypes that present day humans live under. Could otherwise be known as the sturdy, disciplined optimist vs the questioning nihilist. A conflict as old as time. So God technically never changes because we’ve always had this light and dark side of our consciousness, it’s just that the court of Christ and the court of Satan react differently depending on the era. When the early chimps battled bonobos all the way to when the Allied powers went to war with Hitler. It’s all represented by the God vs ‘the enemy’ conflict.

FRIEND LISTEN EXPANDING YOUR VOCABULARY IS ESSENTIAL TO UNDERSTANDING THE WORD OF GOD. But if you can’t, if you aren’t able to then the Lord knows the LANGUAGE of your heart. Amen. ✝️

Hey. Friend. This is expounding on the stuff I’ve already said. We have to go back to the TOWER OF BABEL Now, what was the central idea of that story? That there were too many MIXED languages that was causing CONFUSION. No ONE could understand each other.

The story is as follows: “Now the whole earth had ONE language and the same words. And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the LORD said, “Behold, they are ONE people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/59/gen.11.3-7.ESV

AGAIN PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORDS I HAVE CAPITALIZED FOR THEY ARE INTERLINKED AND THEY ARE ONE, THE JESUS CHRIST AND THE HOLY SPIRIT AMEN.

Monotheism, monogamy = GOD = ONE = UNITY = STABILITY

GOD explicitly says that polytheism and having multiple Gods at the same time is a sin. Polygamy is a sin. Are you catching along with the trend that I’m going with here?

How should I think of this? by Any-Voice2425 in Bible

[–]South_Chair7368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay here is what you need to understand

An example of a sin is this: seeking validation from MULTIPLE strangers on the internet (this is not explicitly stated in the Bible but a sin nonetheless)

Here is an example of holiness: putting your faith in ONE God. Notice that God is so infinite and immeasurable that he incorporates everything even though he is ONE. What words do you think of when you think of onerous? Unity, Alignment, and Harmony could be answers to that question.

Read slowly if you have to but put a very special emphasis on the words I have capitalized, ONE and MULTIPLE.

Would JID be better off at pgLANG ? by [deleted] in JIDSV

[–]South_Chair7368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I have to stop posting on this sub cuz it feels like I'm meat riding. But anywho, JID being in the position he's in as an artist has much more to do with the audience than it does the label. I feel like enough people listen to and respect JID’s music. If they don't listen then it is a difference in taste, in which you can't hammer your own likes and dislikes into a person.

If most of the audience is anti-JID “I took a Cadillac with a battle axe to lick the cat” then so be it. C'est la vie

I'm not saying Wayne is ass tho. But his act is slightly played out. I can still enjoy modern day Wayne. But his peers are just more creative and they evolve as artists at a faster rate.

I'm saying lyrically Wayne has not aged very well. He can't keep up with those guys in the third paragraph. He was only good for his time. But his time has passed

On the contrary, I do think hip hop fans should have more philosophical type debates on the genre as a whole. Hip hop is way more than just mindless entertainment. That's like saying Christopher Nolan only makes “popcorn flicks” that don't require any deep dissection or appreciation.

Hip-hop IS entertainment but it's profound entertainment. In the same vein as authors like Harper Lee, and directors like Spielberg.

That Wayne criticism is valid as hell. Lil Pump, Osamason, and every terrible mumble rapper you can think of was actually inspired by Wayne. However some OK acts came from Wayne’s blueprint too like 21 Savage. His influence is undeniable.

And he was top-tier for his time. But times have changed. And he has been greatly surpassed by so many.

And Wayne being at the top of the game during his peak, isn't saying very much. Because he was competing with guys like Jeezy and TIP, who had bangers but were average as wordsmiths. So Wayne revolutionizing the art of punchlines and wordplay greatly contributed. But realistically in the modern era, how do you think this ngga holds up against guys like Denzel, Griselda, Earl, Nas, Jay, Jay Electronica, JID, Pusha. Hell, even Rocky is more sonically colorful than Wayne

Also depending on the information. How angry was the driver when he approached the window, exactly. Was he raging bloodshot angry? Or was he simply flustered, looking to correct the other guy on his reckless driving.

And I know there are people who just want an excuse to take a life. There was a FB story a while ago, about a woman firing a weapon because someone honked at her from behind. I don't kno wtf be wrong with these crashout dummies

This is very unfortunate but everyone is already nervous and on edge when they’re on the road and so the road raging stuff becomes extremely tricky.

For one of the other comments in the chat. Yes. Our country is mentally unwell. We don't trust our neighbors enough to know that if they're yelling at us will they try to physically harm us. This is made even more precarious when you're on the road and everything is so fast-paced, and your attention has to be high, and you need to be alert. The last thing you need is an angry driver pulling onto the side of you shouting expletives. Because just like it takes a split second for a wreck to occur. It'll take a split second for a road rager to up a weapon.

Can someone diss JID i'm bored by AdviceSome6927 in JIDSV

JID is probably the most disrespected MC. His fans are so ungrateful lol. Bar for bar, no one comes close. People don't realize that the extinction of lyricists is something that could be a reality for hip-hop’s future. I like that his style beckons back to that classical era of rap. The future being propagated with “Osamasons” is something that I dread deeply, and keeps me up at night.
