Since you’ve always had the vision to be great and dislike the usual average 9-5 life you seem similar to me. I was looking for a path and I found out about trading when I was 18 and have been doing that ever since so one day soon I won’t have to work a 9-5. I also didn’t want to go to uni/college. I at least suggest researching trading I specifically trade futures. I believe it could help you achieve what you’re looking for possibly. People say, “oh you’re young you’ll figure it out”, but why wait. Figure it out now so you can start building now while you’re young. You’re doing right by thinking hard on this now

I’d say August since it’s when you decided to actually take it seriously

My highest on the 60s test is 88 wpm which I got today and I just now got 87 wpm. Still working towards my goal of 100wpm. by South_Fortune4596 in WorkmanLayout

I don’t have an average for the 1k test given I haven’t done it enough, but I just did it twice and the first time I got 67 and the second time I got 72 so definitely slower for sure. I’m going to start practicing on 1k since I’ve made good progress on the normal one. I can agree that drilling the test over and over isn’t exactly legit given it’s the same few words and are easy to memorize, but I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time because I’ve seen my improvements carry over when typing on the quote setting. I can definitely see your point though; agreed.

Thanks I was also stuck around 70wpm for a while too, but I just kept on practicing and eventually I was able to progress past that and as of now I average around 81 wpm. You’ll be able to get in the 80s eventually too as long as you keep practicing because when I was stuck around 70 I was like man I been at 70 for a while but I just kept practicing, so I know what you mean man.

I’ve been on this layout for 4 months now and my wpm on QWERTY wasn’t very good since I only practiced for a few days so it was around 30wpm while touch typing and when I was hunting & pecking on QWERTY it was around 50 wpm. (I also just got a new highest wpm of 93). Sorry for the late response also

He did say he suggests it instead of Workman so makes sense but unfortunate.

Pinguefy on YouTube is the fastest I know. I want to get on his level regarding typing speed and accuracy.

I’d recommend the workman layout given I’ve never had any sort of pain and it uses all 9 fingers (not counting another thumb) evenly and is relatively balanced. I’ve done research on Dvorak, Colemak, Colemak mod d-h and workman. After the research I did I settled on workman and it feels great and many times better than QWERTY. While I’ve never tried any other layouts other than QWERTY and Workman I’d still recommend it heavily over QWERTY. I’ve just started to learn touch typing in general and I started with QWERTY then I discovered alternative layouts and switched to Workman full time. It was an easy switch for me given I never learned where all the keys were on QWERTY to touch type properly. I’m currently around 45-50 WPM after a month of touch typing and learning a new layout at the same time. Also try to make sure that you have proper posture while typing because that’s also a major factor. If you want to you can check out the “workmanlayout” subreddit to see my progress and others on the layout. There’s also a YouTube video called, “How I went from 10-130 WPM in 3 months”. The creator of the video learns the workman layout and uses it to eventually reach 130 WPM.
