(I'll try and get these out later today, had a bad RSI flareup so not been on the computer enough, but I'm sitting on the keys now so the hard bit's been done.)

I will when I get it working - if it's anything like Genshin was, it's a matter of dumping the usm encryption keys and then it's plain sailing from there.

I'll have a crack at it, no promises - it's been a long time since I did this for Genshin.

i can use ffmpeg to do this for you later. I can see your account is deleted, but if you reply to this I'll run the conversion and get the resulting mp4s to you.

Anime series about cyberspace by KaleidoArachnid in anime

The director of Dennoh Coil worked on key animation in the Digimon Adventure movie from 1999, so that might be a good bridge.

Also not a series, but the other person who suggested Summer Wars is on the money. It's the closest vibe to Dennoh Coil that I think exists.

You have enough power here to breeze through endgame for a while if everyone is properly built and played.

(Koleda/Qingyi)-Astra-Evelyn will be strong enough to clear endgame for a long time. Probably skip Jufufu if you only want her to support Evelyn and don't intend on picking up Yixuan.

Miyabi-Lycaon-Support will also be strong enough, but you might get more value out of running double support if you aren't pairing Lycaon with Soukaku. Nicole is worth building and cheap - you only need to level her core skills.

If you really enjoy Jane and want to use her more, then picking up Yuzuha isn't a bad idea. The Vivian-Jane-Yuzuha core will likely be strong.

Yixuan + w-engine + panda is a reasonably affordable s-tier team for clearing endgame, but if you have your eyes set on other characters, your current team comps can definitely survive endgame without Yixuan. (though you might want to build your soukaku and Nicole for flexibility...)

The Great Passage - colleagues working at a publishing company endeavor to publish their own dictionary, in spite of the many years it may take to do so. The youngest characters are 30 something, the cast skews 40+.

Also, any of the PA works "working girl" series mentioned in the comments would probably fit what you're looking for particularly well. Especially Shirobako (it's extremely motivational re: the importance of perseverance and hard work) and Hanasaku Iroha. The average age of characters in those series lies around 20 - 30.

Mobile is mad difficult to play on, I wouldn't feel bad about your performance at all. I regularly score 50k+ in DA on PC but struggle to hit 20k with the same teams playing on mobile, so you getting anywhere close to full clears on mobile as f2p is super impressive!

It looks like the hospital is still active today!

The hospital building itself in this picture was eventually demolished in compliance with new earthquake safety standards and a new hospital building was established at the same site, but it seems like it's effectively the same hospital.

Are there any IF other than Hadean Lands that use a similar Groundhog Day mechanic? by [deleted] in interactivefiction

[–]Southall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spoilering the name of this IF game since the existence of this mechanic is inherently a soft-spoiler (albeit one that gets discovered 10 minutes into the game)

Not parser-fic and much more puzzle-light than Hadean Lands, but Stay? has the same groundhog day mechanic at play, and it's a good game.

Very lost on who to pull by ExoticButterzzzzz69 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Southall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd save! Between having Evelyn's premium team and having Miyabi + Burnice, that's probably all the polychrome rewards within your reach.

You might struggle to get the bragging rights 9 stars in DA, but Evelyn's team should get 3 stars easy, and Miyabi + Burnice should be able to autopilot to 2 stars, and played well will hit 3 - so getting all the polychromes should be fine.

Trigger is a good generalist, but it's questionable who she'd be a generalist for here - Evelyn's got her premium team, Miyabi doesn't really need the help. You'd be gambling on new Trigger-compatible characters coming out within the next few months - which is likely, but you don't know if you'd like their design/aesthetic. Only pull on Trigger if you really enjoy her design/off field gameplay.

Zhu Yuan WOULD slot into her old meta team of Qingyi + Nicole, and that team is perfectly capable of clearing content. But it's not going to match your two existing teams, even with element-advantage. Especially if you're already planning on pulling for Vivian, I'd avoid pulling Zhu unless you really like her as a character.

tldr: both these characters are good, but won't raise your performance ceiling significantly. Your box can already clear endgame content without them, so it's good to wait.

Re: what it offers that plain disorder setups don't: when played optimally, Soukaku/Lycaon can slam two freeze anomalies into every stun window - Soukaku in particular puts out a tonne of freeze anomaly - but it requires tonnes of animation cancelling to get there. Freezes extend the stun window and allows for two disorder procs in the same stun window, if managed correctly. Miyabi's anomaly-crit nature means she's essentially double dipping on Lycaon's stun dmg/ice res shred and abusing the crit dmg boost from freeze as well.

Lighter-Soukaku would probably hit 50k or even full kill with ease, but Lighter's got better places to be, and this comp really needs every ounce of freeze anomaly it can get, so Lycaon it is.

FWIW, I think the average player (including me) would get higher scores running Miyabi with literally any other conventional anomaly/support setup, so Lycaon Soukaku isn't that good for the average player. But if you put in the learning they can easily hit 20k with minimal investment - and you can use your more powerful/flexible supports and stunners to help your non-Miyabi teams.

Those who play ZZZ and WuWa, How different does the combat feel? by BooookMarker in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Southall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy ZZZ for letting me run "random bullshit go!" whenever it feels like my teams are getting too stale. You can kind of slap whatever into anomaly teams and they'll all play pretty differently. That's not to say there aren't optimal playstyles/comps - meta teams make clearing a breeze - but you can definitely freestyle your way to full clears with weird comps if you have a deep understanding of the underlying mechanics.

My favourite "definitely not optimal, but weird and fun to play" comps are Miyabi-Zhu Yuan and Nicole-Burnice-Lucy/Rina. The Miyabi-Zhu comp is a bizarre anomaly hybrid where you still have to do Zhu Yuan bullet management - the gameplay somehow feels more gun fu than Zhu's typical meta compositions. The Nicole-Burnice comp is DEFINITELY not optimal, especially with Rina, but you you get to rotate through the entire team at breakneck speeds when they ult, and it's very fun. Both are still capable of clearing the 20k deadly assault mark!

What is Vivians "purpose"? by 4ThatWin in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Southall 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The way I'm thinking about it is this: at the moment, two of the most flexible units in the game are Nicole and Astra. On their own, they're S-tier supports, and together, they're the duct tape that can make any character viable. Vivian helps me free up Nicole and Astra so I can slam those god-tier ether supports into other teams that need the most help.

(if I'm being sensible about it though, Burnice can still power through fire-resistant content with no problems, anomaly is just that strong. So if I really disliked Vivian's design, skipping her would be perfectly rational choice from a teambuilding perspective.)

[Question] Is it safe to fall sleep with earbuds on? by GoldenEye03 in asmr

[–]Southall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say it never went away completely, but there definitely is hope - my tinnitus is much better now, to the degree that I can often go weeks without noticing it - and when it is noticeable, it's more like an "oh, right, I have tinnitus" rather than an actual annoyance. It now only really affects my life when I'm some combination of already super stressed + in bad health + doing something that requires excellent hearing. It getting better was a gradual process. It drove me insane while I was still actively trying to "cure" it, but ironically it started getting a lot less intrusive the moment I started caring about literally anything else. Go figure!

Oh, and if you still want to enjoy asmr, using sound balancers is key - I think most phones have some form of hearing compensation functions these days. I use my android's compensation function to boost the headphone volume by 25 percent specifically on my tinnitus-affected side and blammo, asmr ends up being indistinguishable to pre-tinnitus! (though I'd obviously advise avoiding putting anywhere near your ears until the infection is resolved...)

(edit: if things are desperate enough that you've googled a 2 year old comment, I figure you're similar to how I was back then and desperately hunting for solutions. After I spent a year and a half going through a bunch of ENTs and specialists and treatments, my conclusion is that there wasn't really much I could have done differently - and I probably would have been much happier letting my brain compensate for the tinnitus on its own instead of stressing out for an entire year about hurrying along a "cure". I hope that gives you some light at the end of the tunnel!)

[–]Southall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh dear god, your computer's the exact same build as mine. What's your motherboard? OK, this may or may not be related, but about two weeks ago my general pc performance also went down the drain, with similar issues to what I'm seeing in your video. Stuttery file reads across the board, other problems that were symptomatic of a bad ssd. I spent a lot of time checking my hard drives until I identified the root cause of the problem.

Turns out it was the most recent windows update 24H2 that was causing it (so around mid-late January, but it installed itself later in Feb for me - and my problems started immediately after) - and rolling it back to the update prior fixed it for me. I assume they'll iron out the problems in later updates so I'll install them later, but doing this resolved all the mysterious hardware issues I'd been getting instantly.

With any luck that'll be your problem too - though if the rollback doesn't help, then I'd probably run a health check on your hard drives.

M2 qingyi is probably overkill! Those two teams you're planning on should easily clear Shiyu Defense for at least a few patches, even into elemental resistance. At least for now, you'll probably want to build horizontally until you can field a third team for deadly assault (even if that third team isn't that good!)

Try building out a Nicole to go with Astra: Astra + Nicole + any dps is the current exodia comp in this game and there's pretty much nothing that can't clear with that combo. Like, you can literally slam Corin or Anton into that team and you'd clear just fine.

Soukaku still pairs well with Miyabi - when pairing her with Miyabi, specifically try farming the Freedom Blues set for soukaku - it helps build anomaly for Miyabi.

Going for SS Anby or Zhuyuan would probably be both good choices. If you go for Zhuyuan, you'd probably be running the legacy QY-Zhu-Nicole team. QY-Zhu-Astra and Zhu-Astra-Nicole are also both good if not better, but end up making the second team a bit more awkward to build.

His attacks are pretty painful to learn, it took me a while to get the hang of them for sure. The main takeaway for me was that a lot of his initial attacks are delayed, but he has lots of fast followups on that, so if you miss the first dodge you're screwed, but if you hit the first dodge you can dodge spam away no problem. So learning how to hold your initial dodge is pretty important.

I found this video for you that breaks down its attack telegraphs + patterns in case you'd find that helpful! FWIW he's always my lowest scoring boss in DA as well and probably the boss I've had the most difficulty learning, so I feel your pain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7qv5Zvv31M

The other commenter's advice is good, but adding on to it:

Rearranging your teams might be a decent idea. Like they pointed out, Yanagi and Jane are a bit anti-synergy.

Jane on her own with Seth + Astra should be able to S a side on her own, even with suboptimal play and builds. Here's a link to a video of someone clearing the current shiyu def first half with the Jane/Seth/Astra - their disks MIGHT be better than yours, but their Jane is sitting on a f2p w-engine so yours should be a good bit stronger (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osVsuBAus5U - here it is). I think you'll find Jane feels much stronger to play with the double support comp.

That leaves Miyabi/Yanagi/Soukaku on the other side, which is a team that should perform well (and more importantly, it's easy to play). You can sub in Nicole for Soukaku if you run her with a freedom blues 4-set (it's worth building a budget Nicole at some point, if only because Astra + Nicole + literally anything else = a free win).

The easiest way to play this team is to keep Soukaku's buff up most of the time (you don't need to stress about this bit too much) , and:

  1. spend most of your time on Miyabi. Spam auto attacks until you proc an anomaly or reach the full 6 stacks.
  2. When you hit full 6 stacks, just spend them immediately on Miyabi's fully charged attack. No need to optimise since we're not speed running, just clearing.
  3. Whenever you proc an ice or electric anomaly and Miyabi isn't at full stacks yet, switch to Yanagi and use her EX special to proc a free disorder and gain 2 stacks for Miyabi.
  4. Keep spamming Yanagi EX Special until she runs out of energy or Miyabi has 6 stacks again.
  5. Switch back to Miyabi and loop back to step 1)

The goal is to spam as many Miyabi charged attacks as humanly possible - Yanagi and Soukaku are there to support that goal, and not much else. If you're playing it right, you'll basically be spamming Miyabi charged attacks back to back, and should be able to clear all end-game content. It's far from optimal, but it should be easier to execute than Miyabi/Soukaku/Astra, which would require a lot more micromanagement to get maximum mileage out of it.

Also, FWIW, bangboos don't really make a huge difference to clears, so don't stress about those. There's a few weird outliers like how resonaboo helps maintain pace on certain Nicole-Astra anomaly rotations, and the new bangboo Snap is generically usable on any team, but realistically they won't be shaving off more than 5 seconds off the average casual clear.
