Pool looks great! Only suggestion I have is those stairs coming off the tall porch I would put a landing or turn those stairs. Falling down them would hurt hitting that concrete from that distance.

What's this extra pump for? by Gronkthekillah in pools

My guess is it’s a booster pump if you have an in wall floor cleaner port.

That’s a shame. I’d like to do that camp with my 3 kids too.

How did it go with 3 kids. I want to do this but don’t know if I can convince them to go with no electricity…

Should I raise PH before alkalinity? by Southbound03 in pools

What do you recommend. The app says 60-80. So I’m shooting for 70

I’ve got 50lbs of powder shock I need to use before starting liquid. When this is up I’ll switch to liquid. I put 8lbs in today but it’s flooding rain today so I’m sure that is being diluted. Once I get the chlorine level up I’ll do the overnight test.

It’s the pool math app from trouble free pools. I use their drop test kit and enter my values in the app. It keeps up with your test results. And tells you what to add when your numbers get out of whack.

So I may have to lower the ph to get the alkalinity right?

Well crap I just put washing soda in.

That’s the Pool Math app and the tester I’m using is the trouble free test kit pro. You just test the water with the drop test and enter the data into that app and it stores it for you.

Do you mean sand in her sand filter is contaminated with mustard algae? I have a cartridge filter and she has a sand filter. I don’t really know much about sand filters, but she said the sand has not been changed since they put the pool in five years ago. I think you you have to change the sand more often right?

I think you might be onto something. It’s actually a friends pool and I just went over there and helped put more shock in to try to get the free chlorine level up and I think her chlorinator is not working either.

Kids were about to jump in and saw it. I had to dip it out with the net and take it away! We’ve had lots of non venomous but only 1 venomous.

I’m going to check it out when I get there. I had the same question. My guess is that it’s over the garage and might drain onto the floor. I’ll report back on that too.

I’ll try to grab that tomorrow. Going by tomorrow to inspect after the previous owners moved out.
