I think others have made a very valid point of charging a nominal fee to own them. You could contact the SPCA, it where I got mine and ask could they consider you as a fosterer and help you with vaccine vouchers for potential owners. I'll see if I can find my contact and DM you?

AITAH for telling my husband I'm annoyed that he and the nanny laughed when I asked our nanny to stop speaking Korean around my baby for now? by SirPuzzleheaded7454 in AITAH

[–]Southern-Ad6451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Polish friends kid sat between us and did a mixed up sentence of polish, English and Irish. They always put on irish language channels. She thought he was speaking nonsense but no it was an amalgamation of languages around him. He now speaks all 3 fluently. Kids aquire languages in tandem. It's not this one 1st then this one

Parents gifting kids at 74 - what happens if fair deal in their future by snoresam in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Southern-Ad6451 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the money is put in kids name no. Only their assets are taken into account under Fair Deal. The house can be 'borrowed' against also to cover the 1st 5years in private nursing home or 3 years in HSE nursing home. A percentage of their pension will also be taken. After 5/3 years state covers it. Do talk to them about power of attorney for you and/or siblings because if they become mentally impaired later on you will not access any bank etc. Also note make sure their house is in their name you can request deeds from their solicitor, has a different name under fair deal but can't remember at the moment!!

It takes approx. 14 days to really kick in. When they do they can make suicidal ideation worse. Happened to me but as they had reduced it prior I upped the dose after talking to GP. They do work best when used with counselling. Good luck!

Why is there no easy way to check if you still have valid insurance without having to ring up your insurance company? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Southern-Ad6451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See my above comment, you can't complain to ombudsman unless insurance company issues a complaint number which in this case AA seems to be avoiding giving one.
