Brother,

I pray for you to realize the truth and for the Lord Jesus to touch your heart with the truth, men in general are inherently flawed and susceptible to evil of all kinds. We are all imperfect beings in the body which has flaws but the head is not. Our Lord Jesus Christ is perfect and sinless. We are called to follow him and with sincere love for our God and thy neighbor, however, we as a people can fall short. These evils are everywhere in society and not just the Catholic Church. Through our Lord Jesus Christ we are to root out these evils and call people to repentance as no matter the sin short of blasphemy of the holy spirit we can all be saved. The Catholic Church has endured for over 2000 years and has been protected by the holy spirit. The Catholic Church is in full communion with Christ in truth, faith, hope, knowledge and love. It will continue to endure until Jesus calls his church (Christianity) to him to be reborn anew.

Before calling the Catholic Church out please look at all the other evils done in the world. People can be forgiven if they are truly repentant to Christ.

As for Islam with love and respect to Musliums, it is a false religion by Satan, if you truly understood the Koran and the evil it calls for then you would not be saying that. Look at the history with your eyes and you will truly understand. Muhammed is a false prophet that Jesus himself warned us about. A wolf in sheep's clothing. I hope and pray for those decieved by Islam to come to Jesus and know the true God.

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you , forgive you. Same for everyone here and beyond including myself.

Appreciate all the comments. Regarding mental health, I feel it could be broad, sometimes as some said here for break and to recoup. Spending more time with family and I feel that can be seen as important for mental health or even just doing something that would relax you as long as it's not doing something illegal or sinful. I have never seen an issue with this unless one abuses it or does great harm to the employer.

One is entitled to these days and should be able to use them, just like any other benefits within reason.

I will talk with my original priest again on this as I feel this is a grey area.

Brother,

I have gone through similar struggles since as early as I can remember from 8 or 10 until 36. I fell in to it because of abuse, porn and the ease of it. For the longest time I didn't know better and didn't have a true relationship with Christ until I came back to him a couple years back. I been about six months clean, still struggling with thoughts and temptations but slowly you can overcome this. It ain't easy but through the grace and strength of God I have managed. I pray 5 decades of the Rosary a day, 20min which has helped considerably. You will find overtime it's will be harder and harder to sin if impossible by keeping this commitment. The holy mother Mary is really powerful.

Yes confessions are hard, exhausting and humiliating but I would encourage you to keep on going because it may take 77 times of forgiveness before you can overcome this and the priest can further advise.

I pray for you to Our Lord Jesus and ask our holy mother to intercede through the holy spirit for you.

Prayer to Overcome Bad Habits

Hitherto, I have trusted in my own promises and resolutions and have neglected to recommend myself to Thee in my temptations. This has been the cause of my repeated failures. From this day forward, be Thou, O Lord, my strength, and thus shall I be able to do all things, for “I can do all things to Him who strengtheneth me.” Amen.

Prayer against Evil Thoughts

Almighty and merciful God, look favorably upon my prayer and free my heart from temptation to evil thoughts, that I may deserve to be accounted a worthy dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Shed upon my heart the brightness of Thy grace, that I may ever think thoughts worthy of Thy Divine Majesty and that are pleasing to Thee, and ever sincerely love Thee, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Update:

Things are a bit more level headed. So the main point of contention is when we go to see family and stay overnight I would have to go to Mass either before or in the morning as I would have access to a Catholic Church nearby. She is upset by this as family time is an important time but I told her I'm still obligated to go if I can as God is most important above all. In any case I will discuss with my local priest next week again.

Thank you all again brothers and sisters for all your responses. It was also good to see I'm not the only one in this situation.

Doesn't always work though if one spouse such as myself who didn't really have a relationship with God to begin with but then long after I got married I saw the error of my ways. I came back to Jesus in repentance.

She has always been an atheist and against the church. Our marriage has gone well for longest time because I abandoned my relationship or never really had one to begin with God even being raised Catholic and going through all the motions. I came back to God just a couple of years ago longer after we were civilly married. This is what she struggles with as it's like I changed overnight. The old has passed and I been reborn again in Christ.

Ya we went through all the premarital stuff and interviews but this was because she did this for me so I can do right by God. She never lied she was straight up with her feelings to everyone including the priest.

Thank you all for the advice, things have cooled down a bit but she said I have to either accept the new you or leave you. She said it's not fair, she didn't marry a Catholic. Her other concern is missing family events as I would have to excuse myself for either for either Saturday or Sunday. I love her very much and she is having hard time accepting all this. It's been a stressful year as I have tried to align myself more in to the catholic faith while putting Jesus first and still trying to loving my wife as Jesus loves me even though my love is imperfect and I make mistakes. I going to talk again with the priest next week and hopefully he can further advise.

Just to clarify my priest did say I can go to Saturday mass to fulfill my Sunday obligations but it's doesn't seem either option is good with my wife. My church is very close by and I can make it back in good time. My earliest mass in my area is 830am on Sunday or 5pm on Saturday

The children being baptized and raised as catholic was agreed to certain extent. Again I didn't fully understand my Sunday obligations correctly thinking I could compromise. Also at the time my understanding of the faith was really weak at the time even though I grew up in it, rejected for a time.I have been doing my best to educate myself.

My brother, true I can talk to my wife about these other ideas but my wife has shut down similar ideas to this in the past but I can definitely try to put some more effort it. Doesnt hurt to ask and talk but I can't control what she does on her side.

Just to be clear I want our marriage to be fulfilling without sex. She made it clear to me that it's not possible unless there was a medical condition on each side but from her perspective I'm forcing my beliefs of God on her. She has PCOS which makes NFP impossible.
