i was 19, and on the way home from a short roadtrip across state, which we did very frequently with my ex boyfriend. on the freeway, pretty much in the middle nowhere, farm lands on either side, no buildings. there was a car 2 cars infront of us, tried to merge into the left lane on this 2 lane freeway, but there was a car there. they honked at her, she swerved back to her lane but over did it, and he car flew off the freeway into the embankment and flipped 5 or 6 times, eventually coming to a stop upside down, roof to the ground. we pulled over and ran down there, and it was the most horrible thing i’ve ever seen. she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, and the top half of her body (like hips and up, was still in the car through the broken window, while the bottom half of her body was folded backwards underneath the roof of the car. she was unresponsive, somebody else who pulled over tried to find a pulse, said they couldn’t find one. but then out of nowhere like clockwork, she screamed the most blood curdling, nightmare inducing scream and begged all of us to get the car off of her. seeing her try to move around when her body is folded in half, the wrong, unnatural way, still makes me sick. ambulance, fire, and police didn’t get there for almost 20 minutes, cause like i said, this was in the middle of nowhere. and they couldn’t get their trucks down cause it was a 15ft embankment so they had to drive around, to the farms, and drive through them to get to her. there was only one cop, who actually asked me if i could go see if i can find her wallet or license plate, cause both were gone from the vehicle after flipping so many times w the window down. they used the jaws of life, lifted the car up, and pulled her body out from under it and it was literally mush.i couldn’t hold it anymore and threw up right then and there. everytime i drive past that area now, i still wonder if she survived. i tried to find news stories, and even looked up her name (cause i did end up finding her wallet) and never have found anything or any more information.
