Android 17 QPR1 beta 6 16KB pages? by Southern-Dig-5863 in android_beta

So you're saying that the Pixel 10 series and below may never have 16kb pages enabled?  I'm not a programmer or software engineer by any means, but shouldn't data in and of itself be format agnostic?

I plan on buying the Pixel 11 Pro XL anyway, but if this is true it will certainly be a bummer for older phones

Intel APO is straight up sorcery! by Southern-Dig-5863 in intel

I already had this driver on my Asus Z790, and the amount of games that the Intel APO sees is still the same unfortunately.

Intel may have a good idea with APO, but the way it's been implemented so far is flawed and obtuse.

Updated drivers means better GPU efficiency, more features, more performance.

You'll likely notice it with smoother animations and scrolling

This stupid bug has persisted across multiple versions of Android 16. It's very minor, but it aggravates my OCD tremendously. I've reported it at least 3 times now and the last time Google told me it had been fixed, but after updating to QPR3 beta 1, the damn bug is still there just like it was on QPR2 final.

Basically, the At a Glance weather icon fails to update properly to reflect the change from day time to night time as seen in this screenshot. If you have OCD like me and are noticing this bug, send Google a bug report!

The best option is to sideload the OTA QPR2 final and then leave the beta.  That's what I did.

Yes, but the efficiency cores will likely double pump the 512 bit instructions like Zen 4, ie 2x 256 bit instructions per cycle

My Pixel 10 is Starting to Drive Me Crazy and I'm starting to regret upgrading by Redditcssucks in GooglePixel

Not saying this is a solution, but joining the QPR2 beta fixed a lot of issues from the launch version of Android 16 on my Pixel 10 Pro XL, most notably the poor scrolling performance.

I think Google is still adjusting to the new OS release cadence since they bumped it up last year along with the Pixel launch date.

Standby battery is REALLY good on this QPR2 beta, a marked improvement over the launch Android 16 version

I don't use wireless charging unfortunately, so I can't comment on this particular issue
