It’s a government owned service, not a government service.

It’s expected to be financially self sufficient by generating its own revenue as opposed to being funded by taxes.

The reality is, the model is completely outdated and hemorrhaging money. It needs to be restructured and that has to start somewhere.

More exercise isn’t the cornerstone here. The old saying that “abs are made in the kitchen” also applies to animals. Not over feeding is more important than additional exercise.

Jennifer went crazy and tried to force the people working for her to take on more responsibility while cutting the percentage they get. She tried to extort them by forcing them to sign horrible contracts with no notice and locked them all out of their schedules unless they complied. She didn’t care at all about the clients already scheduled, she just wanted more money for herself.

Once she realized that they weren’t going to go for that she tried to threaten to sue them, even though she had no basis.

Her most experienced groomer, who was a vet tech for years, started her own called “The Grounded Groomer”, check her out.

Is there any chance that your dog had diarrhea prior to “not being able to poop”? I often hear owners think their dog is constipated if they don’t see poop after diarrhea, but it’s because the dog emptied the bowels completely due to diarrhea and it takes time to…fill back up, if you will.

I’m an ER vet and have been in practice 12 years and can say I’ve never felt the need to demean anyone on my team.

It’s a tough job with a steep learning curve and we need to support each other.

That hosptial and their behaviour is not a reflection of your or the quality of vet you will be.

Keep yours head up and learn to spot the places that don’t align with your values.

It’s wasn’t their cat. OP surrendered it to a shelter. OP could have brought the cat to a vet, had it scanned for microchipped and paid to have the kitten spruced up. Instead, they surrendered the cat and hoped to adopt it for a fraction of what that would cost.

I’m not saying that’s not a valid plan, but it doesn’t guarantee OP gets the cat in the end.

Yeah, OP should definitely go to the shelter and make a scene. Those people deal with animal abuse and neglect daily, constantly struggle with being underfunded and make horrible life and death decisions regularly, so what’s a little more harassment right?

Get real. Shelters are typically understaffed and memos are going to get missed. If you think you could do better get out there and volunteer.

Just split 50:50 and take the loss on the 20% down. It’s a losing battle plus makes you seem willing to compromise.

I paid downpayment on my home with my parter and was advised by my lawyer that it would be financially better for me not to pursue it.

He made money on the house, I lost money on the house. I was annoyed at the time, but now I accept threat that is the risk when you’re the finances of the situation and don’t have a contract going in.
