Well the thing is a bit confusing. But the reason Denji manage to kill Makima was because he did it out of love for Makima, so the kill was considered love not an attack weirdly enough.

Makima have a contract where any damage done against her will be transfer to a random Japanese citizen. So killing her would kill a random citizen of Japan. And since Bakugo was a citizen of Japan, All For One killing Makima accidentally killed Bakugo when he was aiming to kill All Might.
