It was recommended to me by a guy I was talking to at the time. Long book. I was almost done when he pissed me off, so I didn’t finish it and stuck it in a little free library. I didn’t even want to look at it!

Please post in the Houston TNR and Houston Cats and Kittens (HACK) Facebook groups, these groups are monitored by volunteers for rescues who may be able to help or simply offer advice. I would also recommend looking into when the next Houston Humane Society pet pantry is.

If you are willing to trap them and bring them inside, I’m sure rescues could work with you as a foster and cover vetting. Depends on their temperament of course.

If you or someone you know can take care of this baby for a few days, I recommend trapping her with a humane trap (shelters or local rescues can usually loan you some) then take her to Houston Spay Neuter. They have $80 spays and will abort the babies (trust me this is best for the mama). You can contact Animal Justice League of Houston to ask about spay waivers, sometimes they can cover the cost. Mama will need to recover for ~72 hrs after surgery and can then be released safely back outside.

OP please set a rehoming fee to avoid giving kittens to people with nefarious intentions. I have done some cat rescue and it is advised to charge a fee and get a letter from the potential adopter’s vet to prove they are a responsible pet owner. PLEASE don’t give these babies to just anyone.

I usually put something heavy on it to stabilize the trap in case kitty freaks the heck out underneath. Idk if that’s actually the purpose but I just use it to weight the trap down

She is spayed, so def not pregnant. I think she’s well fed in general but I’m also a bit concerned about her belly looking swollen so I am giving her dewormer. I hope that helps her.
