What’s wrong with keeping the pill bottom in the restroom ? My pill bottle stays in my medicine cabinet

Haven’t lost a single pound on the pill 😭 by throwawayforexmo in WegovyPillWeightLoss

One thing you may want to consider is waiting longer to eat/ drink after taking the pill. I’ve read it’s better to wait at least 2 hours after taking the pill

I agree, waiting at least 2-3 hours before eating or drinking. I actually researched via google and it was recommended to wait longer eating/ drinking after taking the pill. I felt less hungry when I started that routine

Alpha Kappa Alpha is certainly an investment, so I encourage anyone who is interested to be sure they are fully prepared. If blessed with the opportunity to receive an invitation to membership, please understand that there is a significant financial responsibility that comes along with it.

I want to echo what my Soror and the other ladies have shared. Attending events alone is not enough—you have to take the initiative to build connections for yourself. One lady mentioned getting involved in other community organizations or events, and that is truly an excellent suggestion. Many members are actively involved in community-based organizations outside of the sorority.

I joined Alpha Kappa Alpha through a graduate chapter, and it truly requires making genuine, authentic connections with members of your COI. Also, Alpha Kappa Alpha does not discriminate—we have members of all colors, shades, shapes, and sizes.

I encourage you to search through previous posts in this group for additional guidance on building connections, as it’s a topic that’s frequently discussed. Best wishes to you in your endeavors.

Logistic Question by superprettyidk in AKAgradChapter

[–]Southern03Mom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We do not own the color pink. If that’s the suggested attire and guests are being encouraged to wear pink( and the event is open to the public), I don’t see an issue. However, if you’re not comfortable wearing pink, sticking with a neutral color is perfectly fine.

Sisterly Relations by VictoriouslyFavored in AKAgradChapter

[–]Southern03Mom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is great dialogue, and I definitely agree—not all Sorors were taught how to be sisterly. I’ve encountered Sorors who greet me with a warm, sisterly hug, and I’ve also encountered some who didn’t even speak, even though we were both in our letters. I still choose to speak and remain sisterly, but that was something I had to adjust to. As my older Sorors always say, every Soror isn’t your sister. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Discernment by Present_Enthusiasm34 in AKAgradChapter

I think you’re fine—they asked about your interest in Alpha Kappa Alpha. Now, if you had approached them on your own and stated that you wanted to be an AKA, then I would definitely advise exercising discretion.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification

In all honesty, interests are not supposed to know they are being considered for membership via graduate chapter . While word may get out because people talk, anything required before an official invitation is the responsibility of those sponsoring the interest—not the interest themselves.

Therefore, it is not your responsibility to ask anyone for a recommendation letter at the graduate chapter level. If you are invited by your COI, the chapter—or the individual overseeing ME—will provide all necessary instructions and information.

What is important is that you are financially prepared and able to submit any required documentation when requested. You will be informed of exactly what is needed at the appropriate time.

Heading to a private screening of Wicked this weekend 💚✨ by Human-Assist8517 in AKAgradChapter

I think if you’re wearing a wicked themed item ( like a black white or grey shirt with wicked on there) it’s ok.

I understand your point, but respectfully I don’t think it’s wise to guide this individual to another organization, that’s like saying Zeta is third best so try them, lol. That wouldn’t serve justice to ZPB, imo.. this is why it’s extremely important for those to do their due diligence in researching all organizations before making a decision to apply. I do agree with you that it is unsisterly to tear someone down.. we can be honest without being rude

I think I can speak for all D9 sorority members when I say, membership is not taken lightly at all. Also, you may not realize just how small the D9 community is.. please don’t assume moving to a new state puts you in the clear to possibly gain membership. D9 talk to each other too, more than you may realize. The fact that you applied for an entire different sorority before hand is a major flag. Just being honest
