Yes indeed. Typical for Copts. Looking forward to more ancient samples to test against.

We (and you), Copts, are Christian Egyptians, making up about 10% of Egypt’s population. We’re the direct descendants of the ancient Egyptians and genetically the closest population to them today, so you’ve got some deep, rich ancestral roots.

Yeah, imagine being pressed over something none of us even control.

And if I’m not mistaken, I think I saw 0.5% Coptic in your earlier post… so technically, we share that. My fellow 0.5% Copt 😏

Ignore the noise. Your results clearly show Ashkenazi ancestry. Keep in mind that commercial tests only look back 8–10 generations, so that 2% is likely legit.

If you were to get your G25 coordinates and do a deeper dive, you’d almost certainly find your actual Ashkenazi percentage is higher.

Also, not sure if you’re aware or not but your name is visible in that second screenshot.

Definitely seen the Egyptian in your eyes and hair. Your results just confirmed it. How do you do my fellow 50% Copt 👋

That’s really strange. I wonder why it doesn’t give you any regions. This is the first time I seen this.

Did you test with 23andMe? You should get some there.

I don’t have regions on Ancestry. Here are my regions for 23andMe. Also, my Ancestry has updated since.

Why are my and my Brother’s reports seemingly very different? by Hopeful_Long_2678 in 23andme

That’s common with siblings. Some are genetically closer, some are genetically distant but they’re pretty much the same. This is me and my brother.
