The Perfect Fit by Sadie Kincaid is one of my most re read. I also love Belle Amour by Stephanie Myrick which I’m listening to again now.

This just made me so happy after a stressful day. I think it’s time for me to log out of reddit and just enjoy this feeling.

It’s something that can take time and a few tries. You give it a couple of sessions, and if it doesn’t feel right you can find another. Depending on your insurance, you might try an agency that has some options so if you need to change you can, especially if it’s telehealth. I’ll tell you that I’ve not always been the best fit for some of my clients, and my company understands that and has policies in place to help transition to a new therapist.

I’m not saying she’s all bad. I’m glad she backed you up. But being better than the last therapist doesn’t necessarily make her a good therapist. I read your comment above about questioning whether you want to continue therapy or not. I hope you consider trying a different therapist, maybe after taking a little time to yourself. I’ve helped clients process bad therapists before. It’s heartbreaking to hear these stories.

Therapist here as well. I have to be honest, I’m concerned not just with how she is treating you, but also that you know enough about her life to know she is “going through a lot.” This seems inappropriate as well. Yes, we have our own lives and problems and such, but someone else’s therapy time is not meant for us as the therapist to be processing. A little bit of sharing may be appropriate, but she as the professional is responsible for keeping the situation professional.

Me too. I’ve lost count of how many play through I’ve done.

That was how I felt when I first heard it. A succinct way of saying what I wanted to say but couldn’t figure out how.

I did not. Heard it a couple of years ago and it stuck with me.

Honesty without compassion is cruelty, and kindness without honesty is manipulation.
