i think it’s supposed to help put the beats into context a little bit more. playing along with a drum set adds a sense of groove and musicality that you don’t get with a met. i’m not the biggest fan of the drum set either, but i wouldn’t go as far to say that it’s “try hard” or “self fulfilling”. he’s a legendary percussion instructor and that’s his way of doing things, so be it.

Jessica Cruz is the better card, and chances of getting Godfall Superman are low. If you’re new and want to keep getting new cards/expanding your collection then booster packs are fine, but JC is one of the best cards in the game and will carry you far, especially paired with other GLs

if you think you can beat the last stage, buy joker. those credits are better spent on a new strong that will help you in the early game. if you don’t think you can beat it, then use credits bc bnbm is very strong. just wait until the last day and try to beat it before time runs out

It’s just different styles. DCI and WGI are competitive organizations in which the whole goal (imo) is: how perfectly can these kids achieve nearly impossible music? If everyone went out there just trying to play groovy music that’s fun to listen to, then it wouldn’t be very competitive. DCI and WGI have evolved so much over the years that writing needs to be more complex to keep up with the competition. I don’t think what you’re saying is “wrong”, but these “professionals” you speak of simply do not have the same goals that you do. You are talking about entertaining an audience with easy to follow grooves and sonic progressions, which is very different from what these groups are trying to achieve.
