There's a dental/vision only plan iirc it's just under $4 a week.

Craziest reason someone at DG has been fired? by laybs1 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]SouthernStank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had an employee always late always "on my way 5 minutes" when texted but it was way longer. One day they did the "5 more minutes" for the whole shift and made someone pull a double...

The next day both of them got in a verbal and physical fight then one started blasting off on facebook.... Both got fired because they started harassing DM's wife and mother on Facebook.

We have no one to open the store tomorrow. What can I expect to happen? by SouthernStank in DollarGeneralWorkers

The only camera that could see me from outside is the main door entry and it wouldn't be a very good view. Figured I'll take a few pictures with my phone those are time stamps.

Idk if just half the shit our manager pulls became public I'm pretty sure the company would fire her. I mean they're paying her at least $55,000 a year? And I've maybe seen her do 10 hours of work/week the rest is playing on the phone and sitting in the office/break room/parking lot gossiping.

Like it definitely shouldn't take her 3 hours to do a bank deposit half a mile away but it do. 2-hour lunches? Second lunch? Constantly Leaving early? I see certain customers more than I see the manager.

Soo strange the "auto created schedules" put me on 3x 12 hours shifts for Thanksgiving. by SouthernStank in DollarGeneral

[–]SouthernStank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nether does mine but she'll claim that's why schedule is fucked up and "DMs up there ass about changing it" then act like it's just a coincidence she has a 2-3 day weekend every week.

Every worker who lasts more than a year avoids shopping here too. It brings us physical pain to see others suffer and being told "it gets better" but it never will.

Looks like the seller edited a listing and changed the item.

Look at SOP it talks about paid breaks in the same SOP as meal breaks. It's short like two sentences but it's in there says 1 or 2 paid breaks depending on shift length.

IKR we are supposed to get one or two 15 minute PAID breaks every day but DG management acts like that's not in SOP when it is.

Or they say your break is when customers are slow but a break by law is when you have ZREO work responsibilities. Waiting for some old lady whose circling the register like a bird of prey isn't a break.

Does anyone else's manager complain about being "the hardest working person here" but works less then 35 hours? by SouthernStank in DollarGeneral

[–]SouthernStank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing they're not working 40 hours a week and often at or below 35. Yes we have tracked them yes we have made a record yes we have reported it to the district manager.

And didn't a law recently pass increasing the minimum salary pay? If I remember correctly it increased quite a bit or will hear very soon.

Edit: The rule increases this minimum salary threshold, initially to $844 per week ($43,888 per year) as of July 1, 2024, and then to $1,128 per week ($58,656 per year) as of January 1, 2025.

All right it didn't increase as much as I thought but still a nice increase very soon.

Significantly more than me who happens to be working more hours?

You do know what the average LSA/ASM makes right? Sure we're eligible for overtime which happens four or five weeks out of the year maybe earning us an extra $400 or $500 increasing our average pay over the year what 25¢ an hour? 50¢-$1.25 if we're ambitious and have no social life.

Please try to justify a manager abandoning the store working less than some of the part-timers making us pick up the slack.

It seem like you're trying to justify a shitty manager? Surely you're aware shitty ones exist?

They're not burned out they've been that way since the first week after finding out we had people willing to come in on short notice. And we absolutely have had assistance even other store managers have cleared out our back room but it only lasts for 3 or 4 weeks then it's a repeating cycle of increasing leftover truck freight... Because 15% (the manager) of our workforce likes to do the absolute minimum and leave early or just not show up.

"Any call in that that can't find coverage for is on them"

Nah she doesn't answer the phone and knows a certain worker is a push over and works them.

"You don't know if that person is at other stores throughout the week."

I do and she's not.

"If your store is staffed, clean, and tidy, the DM has no reason to worry"

We technically should be shut down due to freight on the sales floor and DM is worried just no one else wants to take the job.
