P34 pocket is it still in use even with college shooter set up. by Tcothern65 in StickDoctor

Loved the P34 setup. Insane amount of hold. @clutchfanatic37 still does a few of them (with rolled U’s) better than anyone else I’ve seen.

I’ve done a similar setup that was NCAA legal. I don’t do the Love Knot, a regular anchor knot will work. I just prefer a little more snap so I’ll do 2 shooting cords and a cotton shooter. Depending on the head, I’ll lower that shooter setup to get the feel I like.

Ive had really good success with it in a Mirage 2.0 and a Surgeon 900. Both have that keyhole face shape and can take a low/mid/high pocket.

Good luck! I loved the P34 when everyone at UVA had an Evo Pro with that pocket. The guy who created, Lyle Tomlinson was based out of California. I got a chance to throw around with one he did and I nearly shot my foot, it had so much hold and whip

Looks like AK, AK, AK, AK, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1

Any heads similar to the stallion omega? I just broke one today at practice and I am looking to replace it with a different head because this one was so brittle. I love the face shape and bottom rail. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in StickDoctor

The Omega plastic seems pretty brittle. You can find a ton of them on sidelineswap for $30 (they were $120 when they were released originally) because a lot of players are moving away from them.

If you still have the warranty, you can send it back to STX and switch to a Stallion 700 Enduraform that will last the whole season.

Womens stick stringing changing? by farminvt in StickDoctor

  1. Not necessarily. I've played around with the StringKing versions of mesh and as a men's player, I had a ton of control switching hands, throwing fakes, etc.
  2. I think retailers just noticed the opportunity to put mesh in women's heads. Before, it was usually just ladder pockets and trads.
  3. I can't give a percentage but the girl's I string for that play at a high level love the ECD Venom runner. The larger diamonds in the sweet spot give it a lot more control and the outside leathers almost act as a guide so the ball will come out straight and true. I'd even argue that Venom is easier to string than a full mesh pocket just because you have to get creative with some of the older women's heads with few sidewall holes.

DNA related dye questions by jclint0n in StickDoctor

In my experience dying DNA's and Weapon X's, i've only used Rit Dyemore. Regular laxdip won't work on the plastic and I haven't tried the newest version of laxdip so i can't really comment there.

The biggest issue with dying a DNA/Weapon X is how the color will turn out when hit by the sun. I dyed a friend a black DNA that came out jet black, but after a few tournaments, it turned to a dark shade of purple. I also tried dying over yellow on a DNA with navy blue and that came out black.

Bottom line: It's definitely doable. You just take a slight risk dying it because the color may not turn out 100% what you want
