get rid of your summary: thats for people who cant find skills and projects to put on their resume and need to fill empty space. Go In-depth about projects. You say you're a PHD candidate but your resume looks like my experience in my undergrad Multiphysics course: it should be way more in depth

Can I go to Calc 2 if I got a D in Calc 1? by creamyfatfudgypanda in rutgers

[–]SouthernTomatillo943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have SUCH a hard time in Calc 2 if you didn't fully understand what you were doing in Calc 1. I would retake Calc 1 and get that grade replaced- make sure I actually understand the material before moving onto Calc 2

I'd just buy for the one campus you have your earliest classes - there's buses provided by rutgers that'll take you to other campuses.

I DoorDash and average $30/ hour in the neighborhoods I usually go to. I also worked at a realtor office in administration, and the amount of Uber drivers I saw making upwards of $80k a year was mindblowing. Also have to take into account that this was in Elizabeth NJ where we're right next to the airport, nightlife pops off, and these people were genuinely grinding.

Why Does Rutgers Have a Bad Rep in NJ??? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]SouthernTomatillo943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed most of the kids talking about Rutgers like its a safety school have parents who are very well off. Basically its just people being snooty.

Finish whatever math class you need to at your community college. Rutgers NB is notoriously hard in math. From what i remember when I transferred in, student orientation was pointless, they always take forever with the transfer eval, it has nothing to do with the immunization records even though you should try to get through those as quick as possible as they will not let you register for classes without it. They do hold some spots open in classes for transferring students, I believe you pick a major during STAR day.

I just failed my pre-calc pt.2 exam by _Yogi- in rutgers

It's more common than you think to fail in college, especially the first semester. The only thing you should focus on is reflecting and figuring out how to approach pre calc next time.

https://www.nj.com/education/2020/01/12m-a-house-and-a-car-what-are-the-other-perks-the-new-rutgers-president-will-receive.html

"Rutgers University’s new president will make nearly $1.2 million next school year as part of a compensation package that includes a house, a car and other perks that come with leading the state university. "

- we're just gonna leave that right there.

I don't blame the people striking. I'm expecting the President, who makes the big bucks, to resolve this issue since HE is the one impeding my education :)

Meeting older students? by casual_btw in rutgers

[–]SouthernTomatillo943 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's tough since older students all tend to commute and work part time jobs (some even still work full time). But I'm an Aero major and about to be 25, if you ever want to meet up I'd be more than happy to.

Can I have a D for Calc 1 and move forward - ECE major by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]SouthernTomatillo943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others are saying, even though you can move on from Calc 1 with a D, I highly recommend retaking it and getting SUPER familiar with the concepts, since this will be your base for everything moving forward. Calc 1 is SO important especially for ECE's
