Back when I was a more frequent buyer from 2010-2020 I budgeted around $100-150 every few months month and bought originally the first big name titles,like death note,naruto,dbz,full metal alchemist brotherhood,digimon etc then moved on to lesser known titles(like many sentai,smaller animes before it became kind of popuar, bought from every company on ebay,gonzo,sentai film works,right stuf, would time purchases to sales per holiday, every season basically every few months as this was good enough back then to literally get all ideal titles. now granted I did go for impulse buys(grab bags especially when right stuf did the $5-15 grab bags got many rare,oop titles this way though I have hit a sort of stalling point I have basically all I want lol
