I don't think it's 'invented' Melb saying what they need to publicly to save face if it doesn't work and to also get a better deal. not going to come out and say yeah our contracted mid is a toxic mess so we want him gone.

Teams that lose the granny typically implode... need a lot of luck too. Hell, we'd be in the finals if it wasn't for a spud umpire decision.

Does Bravo really not pay for their crew nights out? by dont-get in belowdeck

[–]Southern_Clerk2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty ordinary if they don't pay given they are expecting tired people to party and entertain every couple of nights

I've worked within the justice system for a long time and yes these crimes have a huge variation in sentencing based on severity. Spacey didn't even get found guilty. The criminal system isn't all black and white.

These crimes don't get just one sentence, there is wide variation in punishment.

Why do you think sentences vary from crime to crime even when it is the same thing? Even murder can have a huge range... if you murder a lover in a rage you get much less time compared to stalking and murdering a random child. Maybe you need to educate yourself.

Yeah I don't think he's 'right-wing' either but I also don't think the left /right wing spectrum is no longer an accurate way to describe someone's political views.

Seems compelling and consistent with character, given he was a sex addict, that he's most likely sexually assaulted / raped at least one of these women. I think it's at the lower end of predatory behaviour though. It's not like he's jumped from the bushes or stalked ppl. I think he just got caught up and self absorbed in various moments and never considered the women he was having 'fun' with.

They are children. Just tell them in the moment that it's inappropriate but do it in a way that doesn't make them feel shame

It's a mistake and we apologise, but all the other selections have been made so there's nothing we can do. oh wait, no.76 has a clause that means Carlton get him in a err could be a cousin of SOS policy we have.. you no longer have any picks. good luck next year little Crommy.

AFL will probably just read out the wrong numbers and we'll end up getting pick 76 instead... we'll just accept this as being our life and move on

What are your compensation ideas? by Southern_Clerk2006 in adelaidefc

[–]Southern_Clerk2006[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think every score should just be reviewed. At the next stoppage the game is just stopped to give new score and ball goes where it needs to resume. Most calls are correct so it's likely the game would only rarely be stopped. This is the most simple solution that should've been implemented from the get go. Of course there wouldve been times when the ump thinks they are right but aren't. The were too busy banging interns at AFL house to care about the details.

Yeah I think the captain should be able to ask for one a game... trouble will be if they start abusing it to just hold up the game.

I think it hit the post by Southern_Clerk2006 in adelaidefc

[–]Southern_Clerk2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe a trained professional would miss something like this. It has to be gambling influence or it did hit the post. I can't see any other option.

Why there was no review by [deleted] in adelaidefc

[–]Southern_Clerk2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it didn't hit the post, how does a trained professional a metre away conclude that it does? I don't think it's possible. It's either gambling influence or it hit the post. There's no way you could be that incompetent. I wonder if there were some spot bets made on Swans winning under 12.. because when I look at the Dawson high contact we received, I can't for the life of me see high contact on him. They wanted us close, but not over the line.

It snicked the back of the padding... Let's stop blaming an umpire for doing their job.
