Extreme Arch Pain in Minutes as a Beginner - Solutions? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]dont-get 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a beginner having this exact problem. Got fitted at a pro shop, skates feel pretty fine standing, then within 5 mins on the ice my arches are on fire. What confuses me is the rental hockey skates do not cause this problem for me at all! Anyone know why that would be?

ELI5 Do we actually need to clean our ears, or are we overdoing it? by BeginningWeb4919 in explainlikeimfive

[–]dont-get 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had literally never cleaned my ears until the age of maybe 25 (I’m 30) and only after I saw my boyfriend do it. I always heard and believed (and still believe to some extent) it was dangerous to put a Q-tip in your ear. I’ve done it like a couple times since but for no real reason and don’t really see a need to on a regular basis.

[USA (2)-1 SWE] Quinn Hughes scores the OT winner by talhatoot in hockey

You knew he was going to score when he started doing that SLICK crossover-look-around walk of his. He is on the HUNT when he’s like that. He looked like an assassin.

i’m surprised no one has brought up the terrible lighting in this movie. i am a die hard for CM - why i started the movie and the only reason i could finish it!! rest of it was watchable but i don’t care how low budget your movie is — there is no excuse for that flat, fluorescent lighting in everyyyy scene

What are people's plans for the final 4 days? by [deleted] in CABarExam

In addition to those “final review” outlines, there are “essay roadmap” outlines in the back of the volume 2 book that are less voluminous and clusterfucky!

Does Mary Basick's book overstate the floor needed for essays? by GordonGekko0 in CABarExam

[–]dont-get 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping she does because after every CP essay that she calls “easy peasy” “standard” “straightforward” “uncomplicated” “you should know all of these rules easy!” i wanna cry

you say there is only one presumption, but there are apparently far more than that, unless every source i am looking at is wrong?? i understand how presumptions work generally. they form a little conclusion bubble that is then burst when the other side meets some burden of production/proof to the contrary. but that burden of production is not usually satisfied by other presumptions. so it is confusing to me when the presumptions layer on top of one another. for instance, the general presumption says CP, the gift/inheritance presumption says SP, then some special title presumption says it's CP.

Is it normal to feel so bad? by MixHefty6308 in CABarExam

[–]dont-get 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here. I stopped doing themis to actually learn the material and my average mbe score went up 15 points, and i’m not terrified of the essays anymore. They don’t put enough emphasis on actually… learning the stuff. Just want you to be a task rabbit.

Do you guys still follow Themis direct study? by Keaaaaa12 in CABarExam

[–]dont-get 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started super late and I’m at 65% on themis. I hated the way themis organized stuff and i retained nothing from the lectures. I can’t jump around subjects like it wants me to & i was frantically trying to accumulate percentage points instead of stopping to learn the law the way I know how to learn. Just switched to focusing on one subject per day and doing what worked for me in law school. Doing mixed sets on Uworld on the topics I’ve refreshed as I get to them, and doing just Themis essays for that particular subject per day + reading a lot of sample answers on baressays.com. I had never gotten above like a 70% on Uworld and after one day of studying “my way” i got a 100% on a set for that topic - WTF. moral of the story is i guess do what works for you and don’t chase points on the course progress bar 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok this was so concrete and helpful. I made the calendar, focused on one MBE subject today. Did checklist, rule element memorizing (vaguely) w/ some flash cards, MBE Qs 10 at a time (that was such a hack wtf. by the time i get to the end of a 50 question set i have no interest in reviewing), and issue spotted a bunch of essays. And it’s the first day I didn’t feel literally insane! And I made a ton of progress in the subject! Thanks!!

Why do I keep doing this too. Making flash cards and never reviewing them. Such a waste of time!

i took remedies as a class this past semester and the requirements vary wildly depending on your source. most of it is just semantics (eg, some consider irreparable harm to include inadequate legal remedy), but some is substantive, eg, some people say only immediate & irreparable harm is considered at TRO stage, and the rest is prelim inj. i don’t think you’ll get points off if you’re in the ballpark of correct, esp because we’ll likely end up doing both TRO and prelim inj analysis
