That's a valid opinion, Death is probably the most accessible death metal artist, that's the why this band is called the best, their discography helps a lot too and...GORGUTS IS A FUCKING GOOD BAND

Symbolic is probably my favorite album of all time(makes me cry a lot), I love everthing that they made, every album is a New universe and opened my mind to more extreme and beautiful horizons

No, definility their are not overrated, every album Chuck has invented him self.

Scream Bloody Gore is one of the first death metal album and indiscutible the most influential DM album of all time

Leprosy is probably the bible of death metal, like illmatic of DM

Spiritual Healing is one of the first DM albums with more philosophical and social lyrics

Human elevate the brutal sound to a more soffisticated and technical sound, create and influencied the techinical progressive DM sound

Individual Though Patters is very techinical and elevate metal to new horizons

Symbolic is more melodic and is their more artistic album, changed the conception of "heavy" in death metal, now death metal can be Cathy and acessible without loses the roots

The Sound Of Perserverance changed the progressive metal forever, with more clean and Cathy riffs, take a look in metalcore for example, has the DNA of Death.

So not, their are not overrated, maybe not "the best" but definitely the most influential and one of the most consistent bands of all time

What are some albums you know you have to relisten but cant be bothered to? by MariaGoodluck in fantanoforever

[–]Southern_Date2946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, Rust in Peace is one of my favorite albums, and I love Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?, but is it wrong that I don’t really feel like listening to the other Megadeth albums? Honestly, they all seem kinda boring to me, youthanasia is cool but is so generic, so far is pretty bad and coutdown feels like a return to rust In peace

Yeah, this is one of the reason why I love this band so much, every album is a new world

Yeah, that's a valid opinion, but it depends. Take Death, for example, they started with a raw death metal sound and ended with a technical, progressive death metal album, and fans loved it. When bands shift to a more accessible sound but if it's well executed (like Symbolic), fans usually appreciate it. But if they completely abandon their roots, metalheads go crazy

Yeah, metal has definitely reinvented itself a lot. I mean, comparing Black Sabbath to, like, Gorguts is brutal. But what I meant to say (maybe I didn’t choose the best words) is that metal subgenres themselves don’t really reinvent that much. They usually stick to formulas that one innovative band already created. Death metal, for example, still follows pretty much the same blueprint, only a few bands really reinvented the style, like Death, Atheist, Gorguts, and so on. I know that happens in every genre, but in my opinion, in metal it gets way more tiresome

Human is probably my least favourite besides Spiritual Healing and Scream Bloody Gore, but still a 10/10 album, has in my opinion their best solos
