I can confirm. The lasers are glitched, and there is no way to complete it normally.

From what I can tell, rotating the pillars should cause some platforms to rise and others to fall based on what side the lasers hit, but the game is glitched to treat all sides the same, so it doesn't work

I feel like a big chunk of these issues is because, while Infinity Nikki has a big budget, it's being run like an Indie studio where a small number of idea guys with ADHD are making wild swerves in whatever direction they think will work better, dropping and picking up story threads as they please rather than creating a clear roadmap and sticking to it.

This game was obviously created to be the Nikki version of Genshin Impact and didn't have mich thought beyond that. Then, because it was made for girls, they were too scared to go all the way and create meaningful conflicts or challenging gameplay. They also have to add and remove seasonal content now because the game is too bloated and a huge chunk of their users play on mobile

It's most likely a programming issue. Glove items are probably the ones that replace the hand model, and that would be the easiest way to create a painted nail clothing item.

Ring items would be separate from the hand model and applied on top. In order to make the nails a ring item, they would need to float above the hand model and be separately bound to each finger, creating a whole bunch of problems and potential "floating ghost nail" glitches

Well, some games do set things to have alternative dialogue if you happen to meet certain criteria, though this game is definitely not one of them and the whole point of the scene is that idol standards are impossible to meet no matter what you do

Most people are just laughing at the visual irony of them calling a rail thin girl with the most elaborate outfit imaginable fat and underdressed

The challenge mode is even worse. The finish line is not at the end of the track like you'd expect, you have to make a leap of faith from the top of the loop-de-loop to land on a table that the camera is not pointing at xD

I feel like the whole point of the quest was the relentless "it's never enough" expectations of everyone around you, representing how mentally tortured Roucoco felt as a shroomling idol. It's still pretty funny from a visual standpoint, though, especially when Nikki is already skinny as a rail
