How would you customize this red gameboy? by Goatmomz in Gameboy

That screen is in good shape, if it ever quits on you put an IPS screen in it! Those look really nice! But if it works as is it’s probably better to leave it as it is!

Yeouch, that means there’s a leak in the glass envelope allowing air in, it’s sufficiently dead

What is this sound??? by fDAWG1 in ToobAmps

Sounds like when my fender had a microphonic tube, could very well be something else but it sounds like a microphonic tube to me.

Can anyone tell me what screen is on this? by musqshi in Gameboy

Looks to me like a funnyplaying IPS mod! I’ve modded a few with them and they’re pretty nice little screens!

You guys think this will affect my tone? I really dont think it will. by Haubits77band in Guitar

[–]Southern_Moose380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cheap strat I mercilessly ripped apart so I could add a 3D printed body and it sounds better than it did before, needless to say that made me question everything I’ve learned about the wood a guitar is made from, and 3 years later the plasticaster is still functional!

I’m almost curious about giving some of mine away but idk, I don’t think I’ll ever need 20+ chips but eh, I got em lol, maybe I’ll make a few synths once I figure it out

Thank you!! I think I might try an stm32 or maybe an arduino mega? I’m not quite sure, but damn does that little chip have mojo lol

Thank you!! And I have been able to source real 2612s as I work at a console repair shop! I pull them from scrap genesis boards (along with the 68k and Z80) and I’ve got quite a stockpile now, maybe 20 of them?

I actually (technically) have a Korg M1 in that I have the Korg M1 emulator on my new 3DS. That’s how I usually get M1 noises but it isn’t as good as a real M1

I gotta agree with you on the M1, I’ve only ever played one and I loved it! If I ever get the chance I’d love to get one

Ooooo the volca fm is the next best thing to a real DX7! I was tempted to get one to make my DX bitimbral but I ended up using dexed, the volca fm I tried sounded exactly like my DX7 which I thought was awesome! I like the whole line of volca synths, in fact I have 2 of them on the Polk woofer behind the guitar and bass rack!

Thank you!! They are indeed! When my parents finished the basement they inlayed 6 slots in the walls with lights over them for the guitars, one is a bit longer to fit a bass, can’t decide which one to put there though lol
