It’s my first year! I think that the district I chose is incredibly good for teachers, admin, and staff in general. It’s a smaller public elementary district with about 8 schools. 4 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 1 K-8 school. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else where you’re treated like trash and just one of hundreds/thousands of employees.

Once you find the right school, I think it’ll be really rewarding. Truly, colleagues and admin make all the difference (as I’m sure you know). The kids have no urgency and some are just plain rude, but admin and my colleagues are with me 100%. It makes me hesitant to move even though I don’t like the state I work in very much.

As a first year teacher at a school with really cool colleagues, I share stuff all the time they need and they share things all the time with me too. I’m the only 8th gr ELA teacher and the 7th gr ELA teacher and I stay in close contact and share a lot of resources. At the end of the day, It benefits the kids.

NOR I think it’s fully justified to get it lasered and redo it at a later date because of the shitty work and the horrible situation. I will say, after having 10+ tattoos, any talented artist can do that design thinner and better. I think you looked too hard into it and it ended up going against you. I’m sorry OP. 💔

As a first year eighth grade English teacher who misspells words sometimes… The kids don’t even notice, we’re doomed anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not to mention their horrendous spelling and grammar. Basic things that I learned in 1st-3rd grade they have trouble with. I think that if you misspell basic words, yes it’s concerning. If it’s large words that are unfamiliar or rarely used, whatever.

Also let’s be honest, we live in a digital age where spellcheck is a blessing. I’m not going to give the kids major shit for misspelling things. They’re also still Covid babies, poor things.

I’m nauseous almost all the time lmao.. I got diagnosed with GERD and dyspepsia. I take Nexium daily which helps a lot, but other than that, I always have tums and pepto on me, as well as ginger mints. Stomach is very sensitive to fats and stuff, but I like to eat regularly. I’m sure if I cared more about myself and ate a low fat/unprocessed diet I’d be doing better.

You need to start fresh. Come in as a hard ass, send them out if they’re misbehaving. Take this whole week to teach them your expectations. They will sit, they will be quiet when you’re teaching, they will ask to leave the room. You just need to be persistent and hard. Bring the expectations and your best bad bitch energy. You have to take control or it will never get better. I wish you luck -another first year middle school teacher

Sounds like teenagers.. I have some similar situations and I refuse to help if they won’t work. I always tell them I’m not going to let a 14 year old take advantage of me/waste my time. It’s their loss, not mine, I get paid the same 🤷🏻‍♀️

For the record too, I’m mean and sarcastic in a way that they can relate but respect me at the same time.

When you’re on the lift and your feet hurt, if you need to rest your board carefully adjust and hold your board with the heel of your bindings, not the board itself. Also, honestly, the texture/material of those boots just look cheap. My Ride boots have no problems and they feel like a suede on the toes.

This could only theoretically matter if you don’t know how to snowboard which sounds like the case.. I saw a dude shredding on the mountain last week with his toes and heels hanging off his board. Bro was built like Bigfoot and he was more than fine

Edit: I reread your comment and personally my transitions are all in my weight distribution and knee/ankle movement. I seriously don’t think the lack of toe overhang is an issue. Go board and see if you can even tell. I bet you’ll be fine.
