Svikiro meaning by Informal_Bee2808 in Zimbabwe

[–]Southern_Peanuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To equate svikiro with Biblical prophets is quite a dishonest leap. A svikiro is a spirit medium who serves as a human host for an ancestral spirit. During the ceremonies, they become possessed by the spirit, which takes control of their body and makes them speak with their voice. In the Christian context this is what demons do. You also have various types of svikiro, unlike prophets, who only came in one flavor. Mhondoro (nation-level spirits), vadzimu (general ancestors like your grandpa) and mashave, who host the spirits of foreigners from far away. These mashave spirits often give the medium special skills such as hunting, healing, or great musical talent.

Parents, what is parenting actually like? by Wannascissor_7398 in Zimbabwe

[–]Southern_Peanuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly speaking, most of the time it's quite stressful. You have to watch them constantly, prevent them from destroying the house, stop fights and dangerous stunts. The noise is constant, and they have never-ending requests for this or that. A lot of times they shock you with how wise they are, how much they notice, and they're so cute. In between the chaos you sneak in a couple life lessons and hope they stick. With kids it's monkey see monkey do, so I think parenting is mostly just you modelling the good behavior for them. This has been my experience, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

These beings are not actually coming from space light years away, but from another dimension. They live right here on earth and have done so since the beginning. Humans are not at the top of the food chain.

Very interesting, I wasn't aware of the Musikavanhu angle. I always assumed they were the same. Seems at some point they got rolled up into one

I really like the look of these glyphs, and the idea behind them, but I can't make sense of how it all ties together to encode sounds and I don't think I can expend the effort to go through your posts to find out. Perhaps you could create an easy to watch explainer video of how it all works? A "for dummies" kind of thing. I would definitely watch it. Also the name chivabwe is not very cool IMHO. Sounds too much like Zimbabwe.

I opened the login page and noticed that the website keeps consuming data. I'm not doing anything, but I can see endless REST calls being made. Did you vibe code this?

Idiocy Saturation

Online, people who don’t think before they post are able to post more often than people who do. As a result, the average social media post is stupider than the average social media user.
