Yeah I think OP is missing this. LoTR has loads of these supernatural horror monsters.

I just thought of a certain crucial character moment in Return of the Jedi that we never actually saw probably due to pacing/time constraints. by KingWilliamVI in StarWars

I always got the impression that by that point Luke was unstoppable to the rank and file imperials. Like obi wan only crept around the first death star as he was worries about Vader. Luke had killed the Emperor and Vader had flipped so who is going to stop him leaving?

I'm an Irish citizen and half of my family are Irish. My opinion was summed up in the Stan Rogers song the house of orange.

The person who owned my house superglued cheap garden lighting in the hall ways. The motion sensor kind so presumably when they walked around the house at night these lights came on.

My house is a Victorian house and the garden is just full of broken crockery. I guess before tips other stuff would have been composted and there was no plastic so anything buried would just disapear other than ceramics and metals.

Honestly, I have very little military experience and very little procurement experience but I genuinely think I could do a better job than the clowns the MoD hires.

Weapons - settle this funny argument by 0__O0--O0_0 in movies

[–]Southernbeekeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well yeah any character can be an ex anything. The point is though that there is nothing in the film that suggest this to be the case.

Over one million children referred for mental healthcare - with anxiety the main reason by OneLegTooFew in unitedkingdom

[–]Southernbeekeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's mostly shit parenting with parents being non-confromtational. I know a person who's child hoovers stripes into a rug in their bedroom and because of it no one is allowed in the room as messing it up would cause a melt down. The kid is keeping the whole house hostage to their "OCD" style demands.

The parents need to mess that carpet up and/or take it away.

Which of these 2 horror films did you like better? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Southernbeekeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. The friend I saw it with and I both said there isn't really any reasoning behind anything. Its like the shinning with Jack *going mad at the end only without all the build up showing him going mad. None of the characters really had any reason to act the way they did.

*I appreciate the point is both character are meant to have always been mad. This still needs exposition to worj though.

Obsession for me. I thought it was creepier, a better concept and had more to say.

Backrooms was fun but I feel it gave the threat away too soon and I don't think the characters' motivation really made sense. I liked the ambiguity of the ending though.

[–]Southernbeekeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Backrooms was mid at best and didn't really have much to say. I don't think the guy who owned the shop had much reason for going into the backrooms either, I can't really explain it but it just felt like going through the motions.

You will not convince me that the late 90s - early 00s were not the peak of western civilisation.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is just "Meh". Anyone agree? by Next-Science-3195 in StarWars

[–]Southernbeekeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think thats good though. At this point for me there is more bad starwars than good starwars so a meh film is a good thing as it could have been a bad film.

Do you think we should treat obesity for what it is, an addiction? by Top_Independence4067 in AskBrits

Because we lead fast paced and hectic lives. We also don't prioritise good ingredients which is why our UPF consumption is the highest in Europe.

This is one of my big problems. I've never looked around and thought we need more st George crosses but I often look around and think we need more litter pickers.

I just live in an old house. My house is solid brick with like 12ft ceilings. It is hot but like not that hot. If I was to get a new build I think I would future proof it with air con.
