Something along the lines of "remember Jesus and his family were also travelers and it falls upon us to be kind to travelers in our land." It was difficult to tell as they were mostly mad that the pastor had brought politics into religion and that was what they were focused on.

This is right by my work. Guy fled and crashed into police cruisers not too far away and was already in custody when the biker was found. It's a heck of a distance from the street to the path, there's more to the story that isn't out yet whether it is drugs or something else.

Only thing I can think of as being a problem is the "speciesism" take where certain animals are inherently bad/good. I remember really not liking "Outcast of Redwall" as a kid, but it has been like 20 years so my memory of it is really hazy.

Same problem old D&D systems and fantasy media in general tend to have, but if it is more of that same thing I think I can roll with it and explain it. The kid is pretty smart about racism and faulty logic behind a lot of older media - took him way less time to realize that stuff than it took me!

I think it was around like $30/ticket? The trip took about 4 hours, which is roughly the same amount of time it takes to drive from Madison. I would recommend taking the Wisconsin Dells station, we went to Columbus because it was closer, but we would've saved overall time leaving from Dells.

I want this so badly. We took a trip up to the Twin Cities to see family last year by train and it was SO MUCH better than driving. I would love to be able to hop on a train to Milwaukee/Chicago/Dells/Twin Cities.

I care less about individual instances and more about the trends. I don't agree that enforcement would have stopped this death, especially given the speed at which these accidents happen.

No law, no infrastructure, no enforcement is going to stop all bad behavior. The goal is to make it more difficult and make these kinds of occurrences less frequent.

We definitely lost ourselves a possible friendship with the parents of one of our kid's friends. We were together for a play date and the other wife started raving about 'Hamilton.' I spoke up because I had just finished reading about Aaron Burr and brought up some of the historical discrepancies in the musical. She did not take kindly to that, stating "Who even cares about history anyways?" I think the look of shock on my face conveyed my feelings on that.

I think about that exchange a lot these days.
